I have a cool app (cpl of them, still sorting the best tho) where we can view each others routes, mileages, etc..must have an iphone or droid...Its pretty cool checking out the others just "doing" it and I need all the motivation I can get after hibernating and putting on 15lbs this winter ...sore as hell right now, but lovin it!!

I do but I have a Blackberry. We have also bought a treadmill recently so I don't run outside anymore. It sucks in a way because I love running outside, but I can run many more miles and more often through the week on the machine. Right now I'm going 3.5 miles in about 31-32 minutes.

I run stairs and hill climb on the bike pretty much 90% of cardio. Wish they had a video screen in front of me where I was racing or trying to keep up with a computer generated runner. That would take it to whole new level.
Has to be available somewhere.

Misfit, I myself, albeit a couple decades ago, was from cold shitty inclimate weather. I love to run, the hotter and most humid temps/lervel the better since I believe that other than mental strength, breathing is almost as important if one gets to the 5-7 miles+ a day routine.
Rickey ....er....Search (Hiya Rickey ) is spot on about running steps....If you can gain access or sneak into a college hoops stadium, concert venue, etc... and run steps during where you live's crap weather months....when the climate gets friendly, you're ahead of the game..
Otherwise, as I used to experience, every year in Ohio, I would go through the hell of getting back in shape for 5-7 weeks before I'd get into my comfort runs.....
Been in great weather spots since '92, so aint a problem anymore.

i run in winter just not much (up until this year I loved running in cold!! maybe im gettin old?) ...there isnt much snow where im at so its mostly mental...its so much easier to run in heat as u mentioned...
u know what finallly got me running long distnaces easy? my ipod..now i have something to switch on when i get bored... i use "runkeeper" and "imapmyrun" apps, hit me up if u download it, well trade use info...

Rickey, I couldn't maybe run some of the distances I do without an ipod with some great playlists, or at least ones that I like. I will maintain that running any significant routes times etc, is all mental, and the tunes help get the brain straight.
It's the difference between 4 and 7+ miles sometimes for me, since I will maintain 80% of running is all mental....unless you are toting around a lot of body fat of which I am not....
20 yrs ago, back in Ohio, I couldn't run outside in shitty weather (cold-rain-snow), so Aprils always sucked for me also, .....extra 20 pounds over winter, can't breathe in cold air, hack up lungs in temps under 62 degrees, puke in stride, whole 9 yards....
