The coach said on Wednesday that some players were a little under the weather from having traveled between different climate zones, and that it wasn't that bad, and he didn't want to over-dramatize it. Of the 7 players that reported some symptoms, none of them were ever to have been reported to have a fever.
Not to mention, I'm sure France wasn't going in thinking that they were playing a flu-ridden German team, so the rumors had nothing to do with how the game played out. I fail to see how it gave them any "edge"??
