Usa out the hype is already starting to fade

Question

this sport will never get to the point where it will rival hockey or the WNBA Even with EsPN trying to shove it down our throats ,because of all the money they spent on rights ,still wont make a difference .. For this sport to take off you would have to change to many things. For every supporter there are 5 that could care less ..The sport has rules that are out right dumb(adding time??) the field is way too big ,the action is sparse to say the least.they are draws 0-0 even ,and this is suppose to be world cup elimination to see whos the best??? Big field ,not enough scoring ,or action, you can advance without scoring or winning outright .and most of all its a terrible sport to bet .Now the USA is out the hype has already started to slow down ,in numbers of viewership thank God .In a week after its all over we wont hear about it for another 4 years . great sport for youths and high school ,and collage kids ,but professional ,it doesn't stand a chance

I have to agree with MTFN50. Such a boring game to watch. Teams play WAY TOO CONSERVATIVE. I rather watch ping pong or bowling than this crap.

just like NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs. further teams go into the tourney the tighter the defense gets. qualification games were actually pretty exciting and had SCORING. going by my count OVER 2 1/2 total 31-17. BUT in these "knockout games" only 2 of 12 have gone OVER that 2 1/2 in regulation and BOTH were 2-1 finals.makes for a WICKED BORING sport for most American fans

I don't know why people care so much that soccer isn't big in the US. It's the biggest sport in the world. Sure there's more dollars in the US market soccer wants, I think if they truly wanted US $ so much they'd change, but it's not a US game. We hate ties (I think youth stuff is forcing us to change that), we need action, and excitement. Soccer doesn't meet those requirements most of the time. As far as the WC if we really cared about winning the World Cup we'd pay soccer players like we do BBall or Football players. I love those games too and we could field a pretty great soccer team with the athletes that play those sports. But if I can be a household name and make $$$ playing Football or be a household name once every 4 years and have to move to another country to make $$$ playing soccer what am I going to do?I like soccer and like the bandwagon isn't crowded here. You don't like it don't watch.

That is the most ridiculous take I've ever read on here. Have a word with yourself. Television ratings for the Premier League which is on in the MORNING bear this out. Just because MLS ratings aren't all that great doesn't mean the sport isn't loved here.
