Watching soccer is like watching paint dry. There is seldom ANY action at all. Seems like everyone is content to play conservative. Netherlands first half for example. They have control of the ball on their side of the field but kick it back and forth from one side of the field to the other. They do this for a good 8 minutes. Is this supposed to be fun to watch? I, for one, am not going to watch this BS anymore. I rather watch WNBA than this crap.

HUGE disappointment after pretty active qualification games where there was actually some SCORING. by my count OVER 2 1/2 goal totals were 31-17 in the qual round BUT only 2 of 12 have gone OVER in regulation in these "knockout" games
as an NHL hockey fan I see some some parallels to the Stanley Cup playoffs year to year. further into the playoffs teams go the TIGHTER the DEFENSE and generally the LOWER the SCORES
GETS WICKED BORING!!!

No one is forcing you to watch, if it doesn't appeal to you then there are a multitude of other entertainment avenues in the area of sports. I tuned into Australian football the other night and thought it was madness. I watched but the amount of whistles and stoppage immediately turned me off. For me watching those Dutchmen kick the ball around yo themselves for 8 minutes was far more entertaining.

with both teams eager to progress in the latter stage doesn't require an aggressive play. deep in this tournament, the teams need a chance or a moment of brilliance in order to sneak a goal, which is very hard to do given the opponent's tactical approach and defence quality.. just saying

Nobody is forcing you to push your anti-soccer agenda. From those who actually watch and pay attention to what is happening, these knockout matches (especially in extra time) have been nothing short of outstanding. It is about appreciating the match as a whole. Some of the best matches I've ever seen have ended up 0-0. Just because there's no goals doesn't necessarily mean there's no action. Average American fan isn't there yet, but the gap between soccer & say, hockey, isn't as big as you might think. Hell, attendance wise, that is a ludicrous take. Someone in another post said it was even behind the WNBA! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA Nobody is cramming into bars at 8am anywhere in the world to watch NBA but they do it for the Premier League. Just saying.
