Klinsmann is Correct About the Referee Bias
Klinsmann's game plan is to attack. Why the line is still 2 is the perception that the USA has a goalie and defense that locked down Germany, and that the USA has scored almost the lowest total to this point of the 16 through. Yet most of the goals were scored in this venue in the rainforest. Defenses will start to collapse in the sweltering heat. Germany scored 4, and the Dutch netted 5 goals when they played here. I think this total will get tilted by the first half.Altidore is available. Look for Dempsey to have far more touches than he had vs Germany.

Klinsmann got a lot of things wrong that saw the Yanks play way too conservative, often times with just one forward. With a substitute to burn heading into extra time, Klinsmann didn't flinch when he saw Belgium bench boss Marc Wilmots bring on a fresh Lukaku. Tired U.S. back four were punished by Lukaku when he brushed aside U.S. centre back Matt Besler before setting up Kevin De Bruyne early in extra time.
So stop blaming the officiating, the U.S. were outcoaced & outclassed by a far superior squad.

Honestly, Belgium has the stronger squad. I don't think you'll see many argue differently. Overall they just looked better, and ultimately played better.
Unfortunately for the United States, the opportunities they had were not capitalized on. And the USA had opportunities. They very easily could have won this game. Tim Howard alone prevented a loss in regulation for the USA. The offensive didn't deliver, it is plain and simple. The opportunities came...and went. It was disappointing to say the least, but that is life.
I think there is a bright future for the USMNT.
