Europe vs. South America

Europe is -125 and South America is -110. (rest of the world +2900)

so it appears that bookies dont care at all about how Europe have done outside europe this time. 

I think brazil will win, but if i had to go with a team from europe it would be germany/england as the likely winners from there.

WHat are your thoughts on Brazil vs Croatia in the opening game on June 12.

I'm starting to have some second thoughts on Brazil despite their home turf advantage. Then again their deep.

 But to have the field of Europe powers Spain, German, and darkhorses France, England, Italy, Netherlands at those odds is pretty solid.

Brazil wont be troubled in this game. Should win by a margin of at least 2 goals as i see it. They are simply just too powerful.

Of course they care. The line is more indicative of the fact that Europe has 13 teams and South America only have 6.  If anything, I would read that line to mean the books are HIGHLY in favor of a South America team winning it all.

How can the line be in favor of south american teams when its even money? Wouldnt make any sense.

I guess what I am saying is that even though Europe has twice as many teams, the lines are very close.  It tells me they that Argentina and Brasil are the best by far, but Europe gets the edge in the line due to sheer quantity.

You are stating the obvious. But the fact that the 2 top favored teams are south american teams and the fact that a european team has never won outside europe its still "fun" that the line is where it is.

I suppose I am.  

Spain did win outside of Europe (South Africa), however you are 100% correct that no European team has ever won in North or South America, or Asia.
