ok....in a 10 team league. we draft 20....start 12 and bench 8. Start-QB/QB/RB/RB/RB/WR/WR/WR/FLEX/TE/K/DEF)  Every year we keep 5 players and redraft the remaining based on records for last year...i was in the basement a couple of years ago....climbed to a decent winning record (i finished 4th last season) and looking to finally get over the hump. Keep in mind our scoring system is little diff than normal, hence QBs have a little more value than they traditionally would.

    scoring is :

    QB- 1 pt per completion/ 1 pt per 5 yards passing/4 passing TD/6 rushing TD/

RB- 1 pt per 2 yards rushing/1 pt per reception/6 pts td/1 pt per 2 yds recieving

WR- 1 pt per reception/ 1 pt per 2 yds recieving 6 pts TD

    TE- same as WR

So going in backwards order i have 7th overall pick in the draft.

    my 5 keepers are:

    QB Aaron Rodgers

    QB Phillip Rivers

    RB Ray Rice

    WR Randy Moss

    WR Calvin Johnson

I will post up a list of the "potential/obvious keepers" that the other 9 owners are keeping....my question IS.....WHO WOULD YOU TAKE WITH THE 7TH OVERALL PICK?

    QBs gone:

    Flacco/Cutler/Gerrard/Brady/Ryan/Henne/Manning/Big Ben/Palmer/Hasselbeck/Romo/Schaub/Eli Manning/Brees/McNabb/Sanchez

    RBs gone:

    McCoy/Charles/DeAngelo Williams/Jones-Drew/Gore/P Thomas/Kevin Smith/Moreno/Adrian Peterson/S Greene/R Brown/Reggie Bush/Mendenhall/M Turner/Matt Forte/Felix Jones/Beanie Wells/C Benson/R Grant/Thomas Jones/

    WR gone:

    R Wayne/V Jackson/A Johnson/L Fitzgerald/B Marshall/G Jennings/R White/M Colston/M Austin/Desean Jackson/C Ochocinco/A Boldin/T Owens

so ive already kept....2 wide recievers?......top 10 ones definitely...got 2 QBs projected in the TOP 5.....so im definitely thinking i take a RB in the first round?? BUT WHO???

do i gamble on an old vet like Addai?? If Forte for some reason isnt kept....is he worth a shot? or do i take a young rookie ( Ryan MAtthews...or a Ben Tate..or a CJ Spiller..??

Your input is greatly appreciated. thanks again for taking the time

forte or addai would be nice.  look for welker if hes available as well.  he could be under the radar of some owners bc of knee surgery.  guy is such a hard worker, and your scoring is favorable to what he produces.

I would look for a better league, no offense, but this set up and scoring is ridiculous.

The scoring system is what it is guys....takes big time adjustment kind of fucks me up too if im doing 2 different leagues but other than that its fine...

ANYWAYS...........had my draft last night......heres my 18 man squad excluding my defenses....

    QB- Aaron Rodgers/Philip Rivers/Josh Freeman/Sam Bradford

    RB Ray Rice/Matt Forte/Justin Forsett/Tim Hightower/Fred Taylor

    WR Calvin Johnson/Randy Moss/Mike Wallace/Hakeem Nicks/Jacoby Jones/Louis Murphy

    TE Zach Miller/Dustin Keller

Tell me what you guys think??

I was shocked I got Forte at the 7 spot in all honesty....draft shockers included one guy dumping D Angelo Williams and keeping Jamaal Charles instead????  I like Jacoby Jones and Louis Murphy this year.....see some upside there....i love my team.....in comparison to previous drafts.......

    any suggestions or thoughts??

For week 1 im thinking of starting

Rivers/Rodgers/Rice/Forte/Forsett/Moss/Johnson/Wallace? Then for flex maybe throwing in Tim Hightower or Jacoby Jones?

I took hightower basically rolling the dice that Wells wont last very long...his milage without injury is real low....

.....so question is.....would you go 4 backs...? or 4 wide??

and IF 4 wide or 4 backs...which 3/4    or 4/3 combo you go with ??

As long as the scoring is balanced out properly... What the Hell...

How are the defenses and Kickers scored?

The league I run has a 10 point bonus if a record is broken by that player.

thanks for the insight crow....we used to do a bonus point system with backs and recievers who had 100 yard games etc...similar....

kickers are basic....3 for fg...1 for xp...dont go into distances etc...

team defense is same typical as usual......

    so this week.....who to start??

    RB Ray Rice

    RB Matt Forte

    RB (fill in the blank)

    WR Randy Moss

    WR Calvin Johnson

    WR (fill in the blank)

    WR/RB/TE- (fill in the blank)

    TE Zach Miller

So im thinking to go 3-4 backs..............

    remember i have Forsett/Taylor/ Hightower....

    OR i can go 3-4 WR....instead......

With Johnson/Moss/Wallace and who? Nicks? Jacoby Jones? Murphy?

With Beanie banging up his knee in last preseason and milage perhaps being a concern i was thinking.....maybe rice/forte/forsett/hightower/moss/johnson/wallace?

    what do you guys think??
