Finally, my fantasy team..thoughts

this is a re-post off my 4th pick thread

again, this is a points league, 10 team

as usual, everyone lied, nothing went as planned, hell even cabrera who i thought i would surely get, went #1 overall..

round is in parentheses, i honestly think only 2 other teams can hang with my overall team, and one guy kept picking who i wanted at the turn with his back to back. pick #1 would have been ideal in this draft judging on who he got...round one went..cabrera, pujols, hanley, cargo, gay rod, tulo, adrian, halladay, longoria, crawford..guys like votto, cano and braun dropped big

C- Posada (18)

1B-Texiera (3)

2B Pedroia (4)

SS-Castro (21)

3B- A. Ramirez (10)

OF Carlos Gonzo (1)

OF Ryan Braun (2) steal

OF Justin Upton (7) value but posey still around

UT Konerko (9)...... reach and i knew better

UT Pedro Alvarez (14) should be good slugging in pts league

BN Manny Ramirez (16)

BN Kendrys Morales (15) at this point worth the risk

BN Gaby Sanchez (22)

my initial thougts were a lot of value i got with braun, upton, A. Ramirez, Morales who is coming off injury, but healthy is a 30 hr guy

my mistake may have been drafting upton, who i am high on and jumped at chance to get him in round 7, but would have preferred posey who went at the back to back spot 3 picks later. Pitching wise only regret is not taking haren who is a high k guy, but feel my depth in pitching department will win me this league.

reached a bit for cargo at 4, but dont buy a huge regression for him as i had him on all my teams last year and he truly is a 5 tool beast, while tulo injuries i just couldnt discount.

I put no weight on closers in this league, as you can tell i have none..so dont say you have no closers in point league, where one quality start or more can blow away rivera saving 3 games in a week. (5 win, 2 save, -2 blown save, 1k)

well it wouldnt let me post last night for some reason the rest of the team so here goes, tot, i agree, really need upton to have a big year now to justify that pick, but i agree i should have went with buster

but i dont think of is as deep as you think this year

Brett Anderson in round 13?  Huddy in 12?  Carp 7th?&#xD;&#xA;Cain in the 8th is a steal.  He&#x27;s a borderline 1A starter.

[/Quote]yes i agree hutch, i got tremendous value with pitchers in later roundsi like to lay this out so people get a gauge on where some of these guys are going pay leagues, although all drafts differ.  pitchers went pretty early in this draft comparing to others yet i was still able to build in my opinion a very solid staff of guys who wont go out and just get rocked every 3 or 4 starts.with the K payout in this league being so important, nothing better than Morrow if he can get that elbow around.  The guy was flat out a K machine before the injury

Love the morrow pick... 13 K/9 ratio last year I believe was at least 2ks higher than any regular starter... hopefully the injury isnt too serious

Hudson was a steal in the 24th.. even if he regresses a little from his last 15 or so starts last year, that's a great pick

you&#x27;ve got monster pitching.the only problem will be the saves..and yes..upton is a big gamble..i have a suggestion to make,pick up nishioka just in case castro or pedroia is injred.bol on your season

thanks tot but saves mean nothing in this league, its a points league, you are much better off getting starters with the relief tag to throw in there, hence i never select closers while everyone else does.  it makes no sense in this league.
