Oregon St. has speed outside.......Virgina is horrible.......the Buckeyes are very over rated.......that being said.......the Beavers aren't anything special..........the closest thing to this kind of team they played with speed and precission and solid D was Penn St.........and they clubbed them 45-14.  But that was on the road and I think Penn St caught them standing still.  Nobody really thought Penn St was going to be a top 5 contender in the country.......but they are boys and girls.....no doubt.  This game is at home and offers up the season saving opportunity for a team that ranks in the top 1/3 of the country in offense and in the middle of the pack on defense...........right now, on Monday night.........I think that USC will slowly beat them down.......but that is to much chalk to keep covering for USC.  Look at the middle of the season during conference play last year for USC and see the chalk that they failed to cover.  They tend to sleep walk a couple times a year against middle of the road conference matchups..........scoring 77 and allowing 10 in the first two weeks.........Now going on the road in conference.........I'll wait to place the bet when it's almost 4 TD's and roll the dice and go against my riding of the undeafed ATS teams.........at least that is what I am thinking on Monday night!!!  Got three days to think about it..........it's hard to go against the undeafted ATS teams early in the year for me........goes against everything I've learned in the last 15 years.........but sometimes you got to go with your gut and go against the herd!!!!   MMMOOOOOO!!!!!

The only things we have going for us here is,
OSU had extra time to prepare,,,, didn't play since 9/13.
Riley is 5-1 ATS home with rest.
OSU does OK ATS in conference play.
USC has Oregon next.
Just a word of caution, that money you were going to spend on a case of Molson, put it in an envelope to pay the bookie. This game could go sour on us very quickly.

in battle of pac ten teams. compelled to lay the wood with loaded sc  squad that made ohio state look like a mac school.. look for qb sanchez to have a big night vs this pass d.hitting  receiver turner for a couple of bombs, plus rb. washington  and his stablemates will run for about 300 yards on the ground.. i don;t know how many penn state  had ,but every time you looked up they was breaking one for about 50 yards.. 24-27-28-31 the hell with it lay it s c  59---  10

I rarely post in these match up threads..................however USC is gonna roll Oregon State. If this line somehow manages to stay 4 tds or less by kickoff with my local I am gonna pound USC. Forget the trends, forget the past 10 years.....this SoCal team is special and will absolutely demolish this team of Beavers. BOL all

The Beavers will score on 2 interception returns & a fumble recovery return on a kick off, 21 pts right there. My prediction was 31 - 21.
Total offense for OSU: 140 yards.

this isn't that complicated... who do they want you to bet here?  what team have they set up as the public play here?

Week 2:  So Car (-6) @ Vandy... Vandy SU and ATS win
Week 3:  UNC @ Rutgers (-4)... UNC SU and ATS win
Week 4:  WV (-3.5) @ Colorado... Col SU and ATS win...

all of those sheep who were terrified of taking points with such a short number the first 4 Thursday nights?... and got burned riding the favorite?... all of those sheep who keep hearing about how great the Th night home dog is, but like sheep do, will wait until everyone else knows about it before they climb aboard?

USC has start the game very strong in the last two match up, i will problably stick with USC -13.5 in 1st half

What no one  has mentioned so far is Pete Carol getting 2 weeks to prepare for a game.  I have never seen a trojan team under Carol not absolutely destroy their opponent with 2 weeks.  Oregon St best asset is the run and good luck against this defense.  I think SC has them by 21 at half and then its all over from there. I see a 45-10 game. Way to much speed for osu to contain and will not controll the clock against this SC D

Standford RB Gerhart Ran for 150 against this OSU Defense. What do you think McKnight will do??? On another Note OSU Front 7 is very young and it showed in the Standford game and the Penn St Game. This is a team that has to be one of the worse teams in the Pac10...and what Rush O does OSU have? They have a Freshmen RB...

Aside from the "Home dog" trend.  After some research, I just like this line.  Oregon St. is at home where they smoked Hawaii... Yeah, that might not mean anything, but they will be comfortable coming off this bye week.  USC is not going to be so much rattled by the home crowd in Reser Stadium, but the Beavers will be ready to welcome the Trojans. 
 
I'm not saying that USC will lose this game (probably not possible), but they are playing a team that knows them and has played them just about every year since the turn of the century.  This is un-like VA or Ohio St. both of which don't see an offense like USC's very often.  I don't think you can compare these non-conferance games to the ASU/USC matchup.
 
Oregon State keeps this close.. and by close, they don't get blown out.  Waiting on the line since it is still climbing, but I'll take anything +21 or better.  Mind you this will be a small play just so I can rout for the underdog against the powerhouse.

this line opened at 23 and its already up to 25.. haha, nice for me.. USC will win this game, but i think oregon state keeps it within 17.. has usc's defense been tested this year passing? i don't think they have a guy that can cover that all-american caliber wr from oregon state.. not to mention his kickoff/punt returns..

goin with the beavers as well as smu and uconn on the weekday games.. good luck

Saw Oregon St vs. Penn ST-there is absolutely no way that defense can hold USC to under 42 points-don't care if its road game or whatever other stupid trend is out there.

The last two years, USC has not "absolutely destroyed" their opponent after a regular season bye week.  HOWEVER, this is not the same USC team.  USC will DOMINATE the Beavers here -- 49-10.

Look, I think Shepherd pointed this out a few weeks ago in one of his write ups about the way the line moves...
 
There is no way, Vegas, or Odds Makers are going to open a Line at 21, then 23, and probably by game time it will be 27 or 28, and let everyone best on both sides and if it lands on a # from 21-28 then you win both plays...Ussually when this happens (i.e. USC/OH ST - SD/NYJ - Lions/49ers) then they know that the Dog is going to get blown out and they are throwing any possible line at the public to make the dog more attractive.
 
Normally, the line will move within the vicinity of 1 point...Not 3,4 or 5. Just look at last nights game, I have three different books, and all had SD -7.5 to 9.5 -120 juice. Also, the O/U, it opened at 43.5 Sunday night and ended at 47 at game time.
 
I like USC, they are the real deal...And after seeing what Pen St did to them, and how good USC has been playing, its hard to go against these guys...They just look to good.
