Don't see OSU within 10 points here, USC easy IMO.

  Both teams will rely heavily on the run... Should be a low scoring affair.. Pete Caroll probably won't let Barkley do a whole lot on the road, keep it simple with alot of runs... Ohio State more balanced attack plus T. Pryor's ability to escape the pocket and run.. 20 - 17 game I'm thinking.. I'll take the +6.5  and the under.  But I'll wait until closer to Saturday.  Sharp

I smell a trap.  Remember that after OSU lost to Texas the first time, they came back and whipped them the next year.  Maybe they are good at learning from their mistakes.

As much as I hate to say it, I believe the Buckeyes are over rated this year.  They lost alot of key Defensive players and Beanie.  I am a huge Buckeye fan being from Dayton Ohio but I am also a realist and this is not one of their better teams.  Prior hasnt improved a whole lot since his freshman year (at least not based on what happened with Navy last week)
 
The Bucks lost a lot from last year's team and they have alot of gaps to fill.  The Offensive Line and Brandon Seine wont have as much success against USC linebackers.  They have a lil more speed than Navy.  Look, OSU was blown out last year at USC, what has changed to make a difference this year?  nothing.  if anything, OSU isnt as good as last year.  There is no way they should be ranked in the top 10 especially after needing a turnover on the extra point attempt to beat Navy at Home...
 
USC reloads every year.  This year is no different.  The QB is a rookie but played last week like a veteran.
 
USC will jump on them early and not look back.

It's Barkley not Bradley. But you're right. The key to this game is stopping USC's ground attack and forcing the freshman to beat them.

USC could have 100 5 star tailbacks, the truth is that only one can carry the rock at a time. This does leave a lot of options open for the condoms, but the running back position is the only one that has an advantage against this silver bullet D. Say what you will of the Frosh QB, I saw a guy that threw 2 yard dump passes that went for 75 yards with 8 broken tackles in the middle of the entire mess.
 
People forget that SJSU is a garbage team and would get roughed up my younstown state. and if you forget OSU beat the hell out of younstown state last year in the opener only to get blown out by SC.
 
Ohio state has 4 and 5 star players on the D-Line(as opposed to the 1 and  2 stars for SJSU D-Linemen). Expect the frosh to see pressure early and often and get more than a little rattled. This line is a bit off if you ask me, but given that nature of the close Navy game and the blind public betting this one up its no wonder.
 
for sure take osu plus the points... dont bet against L.I.C. (Lebron In cleats) at night in the shoe.

Sharp, you are one of my favorite cappers.  I agree that OSU covers but for different reasons.  I think they employ a 4 or 5 wide offensive attack and move the chains with short passes, Pryor escaping the pocket, or running out of the spread.  I don't see them moving the ball at all in their traditional pro style offense.  I think Tressel was playing very conservative.  Expect more offensive aggression to attack some mismatches on offense and alot of designed run blitzes on defense to compensate for USC's stellar running attack.

I was a little disappointed with my Bucks last week allowing 4 TDs against an inferior Navy squad. The Defense isn't coming together yet after losing so many starters.
 
USC looked HORRIBLE in the 1st quarter against SJST last week and then completely dominated for the next 3. The running attack is a major concern IMO. Look for USC to ground and pound and not leave it to Barkley. Too much pressure on a frosh on the road, at night, at the Shoe.
 
If Pryor can avoid mistakes and put 3 TDs on the board they cover and may even win. I'm looking forward to see how HE reacts to the pressure of this game as well.

Thanks Mr. Insight!  Appreciate the kind words.  Both defenses seem suspect to me seeing as how they lost so many to the draft.. conservative play is the key!  Maybe a 2 or 3 surprise long throws down the field to catch the other off guard... we'll find out on Saturday.  I don't disagree with you about that game plan... we'll see if sweater vest will open it up a little or not.  Sharp

I'm all over USC like stink on a monkey!!!  Pete is 34-3 against ranked teams since moving west........c'mon.......a sandlot QB isn't going to take down the Trojans........it happened once with Vince Young........and that team was twice this OSU team........young and inexperienced WR's, no proven back and the up front meat of that defense mostly new or 2nd year guys.......same bat time.......same bat channel........as last year's game.......OSU and the sweater vest go down in flames in the second half after the drunken caos of "The Shoe" wheres off.......

One more thing....

Over the last 9 games vs. Big 10 opponents, USC is 9-0 with an average margin of victory 36.8 points per game.  In those 9 games the opponents averaged only 13.1 points per game.  All 9 of those games USC had double digit victories

A few of you guys keep on bringing up a freshman quarterback in the horseshoe.  How about Terrelle Pryor... a sophomore quarterback with 7 new guys on the offensive line..?

USC continues the trend - 7 straight... 

As a Mater Dei and USC alumni I might be a bit biased with my thread; however the #'s speak for themselves...

NAVY IS NOT THE SAME NAVY AS IN YEARS PAST. THAT O WILL GIVE A LOT OF TEAMS TROUBLE THIS YEAR, IF YOU WATCHED THE GAME YOU COULD'NT TELL WHO HAD THE BALL.
NOW FOR USC, THEY PLAY NO-ONE THEY MAKE IT TO THE ROSE BOWL EVERY YEAR AND WIN BECAUSE IT'S  A HOME GAME FOR THEM.
NOW FOR THE GAME AND THE BUCKEYE'S
PRYOR COULD HAVE RUN A LOT LAST WEEK, BUT , WHY, WHY GET HIM HURT. THIS WEEK IF THE RECEIVERS ARE COVERED, HE WILL BE RUNNING, AND NOT TO MENTION HE IS A GREAT RUNNING BACK. SO USC MIGHT HAVE SPEED, BUT COLUMBUS HAS THE HORSESHOE AND PRYOR AND THE BUCKS HAVE PLAYED AGAINST THIS USC TEAM BEFORE. IF YOU'RE A YOUNG QB THIS IS GONNA BE NUTS FOR YOU AND IF YOU HAPPEN TO THROW A PICK, IT WILL BE PRESURE, LOTS OF IT. AND EVEN THOUGH LAST YEARS GAME GOT OUT OF CONTROL I REMEMBER SITTING THERE AND BEING UP 10 NOTHING ON THAT TEAM UNTILL FLAGS CAME OUT OF NOWHERE, CALLED THE TD BACK AND AFTER THAT EVERY LONG GAIN WAS CALLED BACK AGAINST THE BUCKEYES. IT WAS USC AT HOME AND NOW IT IS OSU AT HOME.
I TAKE THE POINTS AND SHOUT GO BUCKEYES.

nothing has changed to make a difference this year???  how about freshman kid qb??? on the road at night on national tv, against a billion times better team than SJST... a lot of things/players have changed since last year...  & just for the record, this freshman qb kid had all day to stand in the pocket last week, + the gaping rush lanes, + all the mistackles... this game coming up  is SJST!!! during the day, at home... nope its just the opposite!.. nothing wrong with a little revenge from last year..
