Here"s another scenario where the public has moved a home fav to a home dog ...to a team that won 2 games away from South Bend all yr & the Wash win doesn' t count [except for us ND backers that day] These 2 teams seem equally matched to me with whoever has the ball last winning. Being the only game of the day ...I have to select between them. Sm play on the home Dog

Public money on Notre Dame much as the Yankees and Cowboys get heavy action so do the Irish. But keep in mind there was a reason the line was set at -2.5 Hawaii and the smart money will take the points at Hawaii +2.5. I just like the home team as the underdog playing against a 6-6 team. Notre Dame closed out their season losing 5 of their last 7. Including the Syracuse loss which stripped this team of any fight they may have had left. 90 yards of offense the following week and they were swimming in the ocean yesterday. Highly motivated indeed.

FYI 4th-n-goal...Its not always the public that moves the line. Their could be large amounts of money on a line but very few bets or vice versa...or both in some cases. In this game there are a lot of sharps probably on ND +2.5. As I mentioned in my previous post I am only playing the OVERS tonight. But if this game goes back to a pickem...Ill take ND in this situation. Listen, ND is not very good but neither is Hawaii. ND without question has better athletes and this along with their depth will give them a SU victory.

I agree with this pick...I also watched that game with Cincy & this Hawaii team looked lost once they had the lead late in 3rd quarter...Though neither teams deserves a bowl...a bowl of soup but not a Bowl game....Notre Dame wins this one in a high scoring game.....

The only bad thing about Christmas Eve is there's almost no sports action to bet on.

But to keep my mind off the in-laws I gotta pick something on this game.  Why else would I watch it...

Here are my thoughts:
Both teams are fairly weak/mediocre at best..  pretty much same record with ND having a stronger schedule.  However, ND is playing worse down the stretch.  So, based on this I am staying away from the sides.

I do think both offenses can make some big plays and there should also be a turnover or two to create short fields..  That being said, I like the over.  I see this game with both teams in the upper 20's.  game going back and forth, close to the end..  maybe even OT (even more points)...

I'm taking the over (predict 52 or more)..

This has been a hard one to get around.

But I'm going on this: I watched Pete Carroll's face when he shook Weis hand after clobbering them, showing mercy actually.

And the look in his face was incredulous: he could not believe or understand why Weis was so cordial, or maybe a better word, calm, after the loss. He could see he was in either complete denial over what had just happened, or he simply didn't really care, or something.

But I know it was an uncomfortable moment for Carroll, knowing Weis was clearly lost, arrogant, something.

Like Pete knew Charlie didn't know what had just happened, or he was baffled that he could not see the rage a real coach would have after that loss.

So that probably didn't make much sense, but in short, I don't think Weis is a talented leader, and he definitely doesn't think he can do this, or he wouldn't be the way he is.

If you have the athletes they have, then what is the problem?

How many games are games the team "has to win"? Everyone talks about this being the game they will "get it done" to break the streak. That's worthless. They've had many games over the last two seasons that have the same character as this contest.

What's consistent about this team, this program, this coach?

That is too funny!   Hey I hope for your sake your Warriors have a big night bro... I think they're defense might be the difference.  And I just got it at 49, not 49.5.   I do think the optimum # here is 48, but for a bowl I'll lay the extra point.   Hope you get lots of extra points this season BigD.   I can use it, lost my last three!   Not what we're looking for.

Just cant back a team thats given up more pts than scored. And if you take out Weber St and Idaho  ( I know, ifs and buts but bear with me ) basically D 2 teams, the avg score in they're games is something like 22 f-28 a.
THATS UGLY!

Here is the tipping point for me:

STAN beat WSHST 0-58

UH beat WSHST 24-10

ND beat STAN 28-21

Mismatch?  I think the Irish outclass the warriors, not by a ton, but enough to wash home field advantage, and the travel.  My $ is on ND.  No pick on the total.  They have been killing me.
