tech bounced back from the thrashing at bama, and huskers did what was expected the first two weeks. This will be a touch challenge for huskers in blacksburg...waiting to see the line (guessing it will be tech minus 8 or so) - more to come

wow...I was way off on the line...opened up at 3...Huskers seem to be a popular play so far this year, and are a better team then last year (finishing 9-4 last year with a win over Clemson in the bowl game). Husker offense, expected to have some growing pains with the loss of our top 2 receivers and starting qb, has shown to be just as efficient - juco qb zac lee can play - he can make every throw there is and can run quite well (4.5). Some of the younger wr's have stepped up, but the big test will be against Tech - can they get separation from the corners? The Husker O line MUST play more physical to have a chance at leaving Lane stadium with a W - the line says a close game between evenly matched teams....I still think Tech has more talent top to bottom (but NU is getting there in Pelini's 2nd year). Husker D is formidable...DL Suh is likely top 2-3 in the country, and fellow lineman Crick has stepped it up. It is going to come down to who can run the ball and stop the run...if Huskers can avoid the Beamer Ball mistakes that happened to them last year (blocked punt, spotted Tech a 9-0 lead in the first quarter), I think Huskers get a W. If we cannot win the turnover battle, and if we cannot match the physical play (8-10 years ago I could never have dreamed of saying something like that about NU) of the Hokies, it will be a long night. I wanted 7-8 points on this game, and I am sure I will play the Huskers, but that is a homer play on my part.
FYI - Huskers have not beaten a top 20 ranked team on the road since 2001 I think it is...(staggering thought)

VT only favored by 3. That is a joke. They should win this game by two to three touchdowns. Now if this was the Tom Osbourne Cornhuskers then they would be the favorite and they would probably win by two to three touchdowns.

I am not so sure about that doggs...this Cornhusker team is a good team (not REAL good...yet). Tech beat em last year in Lincoln by 5, and that was Pelini's 5th game at Nebraska (not to mention spotting them 9 points the first 5 monutes of the game, and they had a chance to win it at the end of the game). The Husker D is far improved from then, as is the offense. Of course, Tech is also a much better team then they were in Lincoln last year...Tyrod has another year of experience, and they were very young (the entire team) last year...this was to be Tech's most talented team since the Vick era....they ran into a buzz saw against Bama (who looked even better then they did last year), but I expect Tech to finish the year strong (as much as it pains me to say that living in Hokie country). Barring a Beamer Ball type of play, this game will be very, very close imo...of course they get a punt block, or INT return for a TD, and then Tech seems to feed off that like no other team I have seen before...next thing you know they can drop 20 unanswered on you. I will be shocked if this game is decided by more then 10 points either way...I believe it will be a FG W for either side...thats why I wanted 7-8 points!

Husker QB Lee seems to be the real deal.....Key is can Husker D contain Tech offense with the potent running QB.....
This will be a fun game to watch.....I look for a close game but gotta give the nod to home team to cover as much as I'd like to see Huskers pull it out......

As another homer, I would think this would be the game where NU takes out their big game frustrations and finally wins a big one. After the Texas Tech game last year, they still have to be seething about not pulling off the big road game upset. They take care of business this time.

Liking Va Tech in this one at home. They really need to win a big OOC game, and this looks like the best chance they have had. Hokies really manned up against Bama for the first half, and played them very physical. Pelini has improved the Huskers and they are on their way back to being respectable, but they aren't there yet. Hokies for me in a game that should be competitive and entertaining to watch. Hokies by 7

Huskers lost in Lincoln last year, Va Tech didn't win that game. First game on the road for the Huskers should be interesting. Everyone expects them to lose but they are very physical this year and have rested their starters once they could to give the new guys some needed playing time. Helu is a stud and Lee can throw, it's a homer pick for me but this is an underdog that can win SU. Huskers and anypoints is good. GL

Tech -5, nebraska 2-7 last 3yrs as rd dog, tech still has an outstanding D and with Neb. creampuff schedule to start the year this should be a 10-14 pt wake up call.

good call there bigeii...first points being a FG is a solid play imo
I see the line has crept up to 5 now...I do believe Huskers can win, but honestly Tech has more talent top to bottom then NU, and NU will have to play their best game in a long time to come out with a W. I am always leery of betting against Tech and Beamer Ball, because everytime I do, they block a punt and get a Beamer Ball TD, and the floodgates can open..If I can get the points to 6, I am taking my huskers here, as I think it will be a hard fought game with a FG either way being the difference
