My Nittany Lions will have a difficult time focusing from here on out. This program is in bigtime trouble. When this is all over Penn St will be starting from scratch. Good Luck in the future Lions, you will need it.

    Nebraska - 34                                      Penn St - 10

    Cornhuskers -2.5                               over 43

I'm speechless  I was so proud of everything this program stood for. This is one hell of a punch in the gut. What Sandusky did is horrendous.

When scandals erupt concerning coaching staffs, it is usually easy to see how players might rally around the coaches/team/school etc.  In most cases, the accusations usually have to do with benefiting players in some form or fashion, which the teams can forgive, especially if it is a minor case or perceived as required to keep up with conference foes.  In this case, the coach(es) clearly violated moral obligations (if legally in the clear) related to he most vile of acts.  I have a hard time seeing anything besides a very flat Penn St. team.

    Nebraska -3

p.s.  Can't wait to see the signs and hear the chants from Buckeye Nation at next week's game in Columbus.

This could be Paterno's last home game ever.  The place will be on fire. I wouldn't be on Nebraska so easy.

What a tragedy that after 46 years, PSU officials leaked to the NY Times they are moving for his removal....even without any due process.  JoePa made it clear that the presentation of Sandusky's alleged problems was not presented clearly...a problem existed; but the severity of the problem was according to the king of coaches...was not made clear.  Can we not even take Paterno at his word?  Can we not offer him the benefit of the doubt at least until an investigation has become complete?

I am one buckeye fan that will be a PSU fan this weekend....just for JoePa, a guy anyone can and should respect as one of the greatest ever...he simply does not deserve an administration that would throw him under the bus, and allow one of the cleanest, and best programs of the country (historically) go out on this note.

The problem with preverts is that they very often blend in....you can't see them or point them out....

So...go Lions this weekend.  But if PSU allows Paterno's career to end this way....may PSU suffer 8 losses a year for the next twenty years for doing so!

Ugghh...Before this scandal errupted, I felt Nebraska was a lock. Now, with all this drama, I'm not as sure. Things like this can affect teams in different ways.

By the way, how can this be Penn State's last home game? Thay haven't played anyone yet!! I've never seen an easier/worse schedule played at this point of the season. No MSU or UM at all. Have yet to play Wisconsin, OSU, Nebraska.

This is my concern as well jayfan.  I have read the above comments and feel most are assuming they have a fix on this.  Emotion is a powerful faactor in a college football game, and this one could be off the charts.  Anyone who has followed PSU over the years understand how committed these players are to JoePa, I mean they came there despite all the negative recruiting about Paterno's age and potential retirement.

In deciding how this scandal, and it is a nasty, ugly mess, will impact the game, I believe the PSU players lay it alll out by adopting a bunker mentality and rallying against all the bad press.  If it were on the road, I would think it might not be enough, but at home I think these players will ride a strong wave of emotion to send their embattled coach off with a win.  I think this will happen even if the BOT change their mind and do not let Paterno take the field.  It was already a good matchup with PSU getting points, now I think they win straight up.  PSU wins SU by 7

No way in hell Penn St will be 100% focused on the Huskers.  I can tell you this....Nebraska is fired up and Pelini will have his team ready, especially after last weeks loss.  This is gonna be a big ass whooping.  41-13.  NEBRASKA!!!

I'm leaning the opposite way. I think Saturday we're gonna see a Penn State team no one's seen before. They're going to stomp Nebraska. When something is taken away from you and emotion becomes involved we can sometimes see someone at their best and I expect Penn State to play like that.

I think the game will be sloppy.  Penn State would have played hard for Joe Pa...Not so sure they will play at the highest level now.  Even before the scandal, PSU was highly overrated.  I think a refocussed Husker team comes in and TCB...

When I heard the scandal I lay heavy on Nebraska to take advantage of the situation and NE is not as bad!  Hopefully it won't bite me!

I am old enough to remember a young Joe coaching back in the 60's.   Penn State will lay down in this game and send a message to the University.
