I think 'bama is the superior team by far but as a lot have said it's national title or bust with Saban.
He's a great coach but he, and subsequently his team, doesn't get up for non-championship games. They're certainly capable of crushing MSU but I'd be shocked if they do if 'bama wins it'll be close. I love the points.

I poo pooed the Big Ten most of the year.....not anymore. Iowa and Illinois got it done. I'll be riding with the old corpse at Penn st today getting the points and I'll do the same with MSU. On paper, Bama is a better team no doubt. But Bama had what is a very disappointing season for them. They lost three times and never really looked very dominant in any win against a quality opponent after the middle of the year!?!? You don't think MSU will show up with a big, big chip on their shoulder being a 10 point dog!!!!
Hey, you all know me, I'm an unabashed ND fan.....so you would think I would be hating on MSU here......this is about finding the right spot and the right angles and these type of bowl games you have to look at the psychological side of these kids motivations, moods and expectations. I think Bama has played like an entitled team this year, and it has showed. Bama can't be stoked to play in this game. They are saying they are, but these are 19-21 year old kids....they just won a title last year....they were #1 for the first half of this year.....they lost almost half of there games in the last half of the season.....meanwhile, in comes a team that nobody has respected all year. A coach that has battled health issues all year and showed how to handle adversity first hand to his players. They have won every close game they have been in late, which shows the mental fortitude of the staff and kids on the field. And now they look up and see they are 10 point dogs!!!!
I'm not laying 10 points with all the dogs that have been barking over the last 3 days. The books got pounded early in the bowls with all the favs coming in and now the gambling gods on Mount Cashola are angered and ready to strike down the average gambler who pays no homage or heed to the principles that they passed down to you mortals!!! Ok, it's getting kinda cheesy now, I know.......I'm too jacked up on coffee and geeked for the day!! Take the dog here....Bama could and may even certainly deserve to win on paper. This is a New Year's day bowl. 9-10 points is a lot to give an 11-1 conference champ. The reason the number is high, is only because Vegas expects Bama to get pounded on by the public. Take the extra couple points that are put on this game because of that and take the team with a chip on their shoulder in a bowl game.....

I never make my bets on past teams but...remember in 2008 bama was 12-0 going into the SEC championship game and got beat by florida in a national championship play in game...bama's consolation prize was a trip to the sugar bowl where the were a 9.5 favorite and got beat outright by utah. Saban may have trouble getting them up for this as he did then.
