OPEN CHALLENGE FOR NEXT YEAR CFB REGULAR SEASON AND BOWL SEASON

I am ready for all the squares, the posers, the tailers, and the fakers to put up or shut up.  Next year, we put this BS to rest and find out who knows the CFB game.  I challenge any and everyone to the following:

Beginning on the first full week of college FB season ( say 2nd week of Sept ), everyone makes 5 picks on the Covers contest.   5 picks every week until the week before the Army Navy game.  That is a big enough sample size to see who knows what.  I would like find out how much all you squares on Covers really know and if you can back up your big talk with picks.  So far, all i see and hear is tailers and posers and squares talking big after they know the final score or a few losers getting on a short term lucky streak.

If you think you can beat me in a straight up way, then bring it on.  I am tired of the cheap talk BS around here.

We can go all the way through Bowl Season or treat bowls as a separate event. I don't really care - I just wanna see the losers put their stuff in play BEFORE the games are actually played.

Great idea combato. I will join in the contest.  However, the people that we want to get in the contest won't. Because they know they have no method to their madness and if they accept the challenge then people will know for sure they are fake. People like the MMA guy for example.

Thanks Vol - most of the posters here are clueless and will lose big over the long haul.  I just want to see it. Nice you have guts to join but I dont expect to see too many others.  Most of these clowns can't pick their nose over the long run.

I have not seen my little tapeworm friend ( Mickva480 ) lately.  Perhaps the offline invitation I sent him discouraged him from posting. 

Too bad little tapeworm.  Be a man and play in our contest next year so we can see if you are all talk ( as if we don't already know ).

Not quite - Miami with Testaverde was one dimensional passing attack and did not run the ball all that well.

I think is looks more like 1993 - Miami vs Alabama coached by Stallings ( Gino Torreta won Heisman that year )

Sounds like a good idea.I'm not interested in beating you.I'm interested in beating the bookmakers.But we'de learn how we're all doing.I tend to do better later in the season (not this year).I went 1-3 in the NFL playoffs today.Whoda thunk all 4 favs would cover.
 Combato, you say that you have the score figured at 34-10. Then why only a money line play?That score would easily cover 9 1/2?

Combato, if ND/USC wasn't a ' public ' game then what is? That was the point of my post. I am seeing the exact same thing happening here. Early, what I consider ' sharp ' money in this case, then as the game approaches, ND this, Golden Domer that, Rudy, Touchdown Jesus ( I just said in another thread that I think he will have to come off that wall and play himself for them to hang here. A bit cocky for my own good at times, but what the He.., it's all in fun). The ND/USC game was much closer than I expected ( which should give anyone pause about ND to begin with), but again, the point is that I see the same thing here. Don't think the NC will be very close when the dust settle's. We will see. Hope that answered your question and thanks for the interest.

toughest Schedule in the country???????  I did not know that ND played in the SEC.  USC.   Not good.  Stanford Barely beat Wiskey....  Oklahoma.   Well they got a taste of the SEC....

well finished  8-2 in my bowl selections.waiting for this game for a month.watched alabama play texas am and they had trouble with a mobile QB.IM NOT SAYING GOLSTON IS JOHNNY FOOTBALL BUT IF HE CAN EXTEND PLAYS WITH HIS LEGS YOU KNOW NOTRE DAME DEFENSE IS GONNA SHOW UP AND NOTRE DAME DONT KNOW HOW TO LOSE.I THINK 9.5 IS A GIFT.LOVE NOTRE DAME. DIME PLAY -9.5 AND A NICKEL ON THE MONEY LINE.ALL THE WAY TO THE BANK

Good question - 34 -10 is not a conviction play, only an estimate. Game could easily be 10 - 6  just as easily.   My score predictor actually shows Bama only winning by 4.  I put in 34 10 based on my own bias in favor of Bama.  I think ML play is as close to a sure thing as I can get this season so why take an undue risk of a backdoor cover.

Oh yes ND is clearly the public side by a huge margin ( 66% at Sports Insights ).  This is amazing considering how much public support is usually seen for Bama.  I love the idea of getting Bama and having the public on the other side.  Very rare event and is one reason I am betting the ML on Bama.  Your posts are great. Glad you went 8-2 and I see no reason to doubt you.  Did you post these picks here?  You may have and I just don't remember.  However, if you did not post them in advance, then don't show up making claims you cannot back up.  The few good cappers on this thread will just laugh at you if they are not a matter of public record.

domo arigato mr combato, i really enjoy fading your picks when the smug attitude breaks out.  Is it really neccessary to call people squares, tailers and what nots?  Lets just stick with handicapping the game and just ignore those who you feel are posers, wannabe's and what ever other names you seem to enjoy calling people.  You seem to have attracted many tailers yourself.....funny thing is that they FADE your picks.
