Notre Dame has lived on its defense all year, their offense has yet to try and win a game. Half their games are 7pts or less. Pitt took them to 3OT and missed a field goal, c'mon Pitt is 6-6 and playing in the goodwill bowl lol. Alabama should win by 10 and im being generous.

Alabama wins by 17 here.  ND coasted all the way the to this beat down we call the championship.  ND will be crap again starting next year for another 15 years once all their Sr's graduate.

I can see already this thread is going to be ridiculous. I took the Irish and a bit on the ML. Look at the numbers, leave the names of the teams out of the equation and make some money.

you are getting 10 pts with notre dame simply cause of SEC bias. Notre dame has a great shot to win this straight up. clearly notre dame has had struggles against some iffy teams, but teams like pitt are at least quality opponents attending a bowl game. they didn't get to take the first half of the season off by playing western kentucky, arkansas, florida atlantic, ole miss, missouri, tennessee, and then another break at the end of the season with western carolina and auburn. an absolute joke of a schedule this year for sec teams. they play 3 quality opponents all year... play 3 close games all year (go figure) and call their schedule and resume head over heels better than the pac12, big12, and notre dame. I think not. Maybe if the sec west actually had to play the good teams in the sec east and vice versa it would be an argument, but as is most teams in the sec have had a very weak schedule.

I think not. Maybe if the sec west actually had to play the good teams in the sec east and vice versa it would be an argument, but as is most teams in the sec have had a very weak schedule.

I am a big time square, I admit it...I play the favorites, and I have done reasonably well...Bama may win 20+, but I don't think so...I am strongly considering taking N Dame and the points.

Well.....I have held my tongue long enough......ND has played on of the top ten schedules in the country.....regardless of what outlet or publication you look at......osu200200 is abosutely on the money with that simple and honest look at this game.  I'll have more to say later....but think about this game as the evolution of teams go.....Bama....living on a little past glory.....hasn't really jelled as a team.....ND is hungery like Bama was 5 years ago when they resurected their program's history and deep tradition in football!!!!  And after half a decade....most dominant programs regress to really solid contenders......that is what I have seen from Bama this year.......and ND has crazy mojo and a passion for resurecting their own history and tradition as a football program!!!!!  And they are moving in the right direction like programs do on the come!!  Now, best bet that after ND wins this game.....and has a nice run in relevance for the next 5 years or so.....they too will faulter and will need to begin the cycle all over again to rise to the top!!!  Think about it!?!?!?!? Just one homer's opinion.....but I do live in South Bend and there is certainly something happening on campus that hasn't for a very long time......it's in the air.  It's going to be the next chapter in a coffee table book at a Barnes and Noble near you soon........

We'll homer it to victory lane. N dame sometimes plays to the level of opponent sure, but they ain't lost either and their one whether you like it or not. They have some serious luck on their side. Remember tenn back in 1998. Famous Clint steorner fumble and every team above em lost!

Look at Nick Sabans Record in Bowl Games. He lost one with Alabama. The Sugar Bowl in 2008 to an underrated Utah team. Also he was playing with a loser named John Parker Wilson. Since his recruits have taken over the Alabama roster he has not lost a bowl game. Nick Saban will study this game like no other. Alabama almost always shows up in hyped up games such as this one and shocks the country. Remember last year.... LSU did not cross the 50 yard line and Alabama won 21-0. Notre Dame wont fit the bill. SEC takes home 7th Title. BOOK IT DANNO.

I wish this game could end in a tie.But it wontTo all the Irish fans out there you have about a 10% chance of winning this game and I'm being generous at 10%.As far as the spread is concerned there are much better games to play than this one.So Bama wins another oneand we get to hear a bunch of backwoods tater-diggers yell how great they are. There wont be a true champion till we get a playoff.Oh and Bama get ready to lose your coach to the NFL because Satan has no loyalty to anyone but himself

Are the ND defensive lineman gonna "dance" with Bama's OLine like Georgia did(2 of Gergia's DLineman can't even run) and let the Bama RB's run by them, I don't think so.....those straight-ahead running plays(which I luv, by the way, wish more teams would do them) are not going to be as effective against the Domers...plus Alabama D will have its hands full with elusive ND QB..they aren't the Bama D of last year.....Hate BOTH teams AND coaches...will have to bet on it to be able to watch it...gotta take the points!

O.K., admittedly, not a big college betting "fan" - but, just too many variables in this one.....

It's the S.E.C., right? Against a weak Notre Dame schedule? The game is in Miami?!?!?!? The only loss was against "Johnny Football" in Texas? Who did the "Dames Of Notre" beat????? USC?? C'mon man................

doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this one out......................

The Crimson Saban's by at least 20 - - point spread is 10 right now?!?!?!?

    You do the math......................

Crimson by a LOT - - I'm talkin' like 52-17 or something like that...................................

Irish I love ya.. I do.  Stop the presses at Barnes and Noble.. That write up above makes for a good bedtime story for the kids and really warms the cockles and though parts are true, most is just one homers wishful thinking...
Notre Dame just simply don't belong here they are in way over their head and this game has blowout written all over it...
Look at the common opponent Michigan, Bama wins 41 to 14 (giving up 7 at garbage time) then ND squeaks it out 13 to 6 after Michigan turns the ball over 6 times ( 5 int and a fumble) then Stanford 3 to's, USC 3 three turn overs and the worst goal line play calling in the history of college football by that tool Lane Kiffen.. ND went to overtime with Pitt yes Pitt and had that kicker who now should be opening a restaurant with Sam Ficken that serves only lamb and call it "shanks" hit that chip shot we would have a much better game to watch on the 7th..
Q: what does ND and a bag of pot have in common??
A: they both get smoked in a bowl...
I have more also Irish but my battery on the laptop is dying..

Here we go again ...1st dont want to here about the Irish and how they barly won ..this -that ..12-0 is there record. Bama played 3teams this year lsu/georgia/am  lost to am should have lost to lsu..so on to the facts ..Let's say this up front: The Southeastern Let's say this up front: The Southeastern Conference has earned its towering superiority complex.
The smugness is based on fact, the arrogance grounded in truth. The proof is in the hardware, and six consecutive crystal footballs don't lie. It is the best college football conference in the land.
Manti Te'o and the Irish will face either Alabama or Georgia in the Jan. 7 BCS title game. (AP)
But occasionally arrogance leads to blindness, or at least severe myopia. And for all the SEC elitists guaranteeing a blowout by whoever wins its league against Notre Dame in the BCS championship game, I'm here to offer an eye test.
Look at the facts, get over the regional bias and acknowledge that someone outside of Dixie might actually be good at football.
My friend Clay Travis, who runs the excellent SEC blog, "Outkick the Coverage," was the voice of SEC arrogance Sunday morning on Twitter. Quoth Clay: "Notre Dame will be destroyed by either Alabama or Georgia. Seventh best team in SEC. At best."
Let me repeat that I'm a fan of Clay's and enjoy his work, but this is ridiculous. Notre Dame may indeed lose the national title game, but I don't foresee a blowout and an Irish victory would not be an outlandish outcome (especially if the opponent is Georgia).
And anyone who believes Notre Dame would be the seventh-best team in the SEC needs to get out more.
[Related: Irish complete rise to prominence]
The gist of this argument is that the Irish could not have played anywhere near the schedule of an SEC team. Unfortunately, it's completely false. Here's the reality, stacking all 12 games on the Irish ledger alongside Alabama's and Georgia's and using the Sagarin Ratings as a measuring stick:
Best opponent played: Notre Dame hosted Stanford (eighth in Sagarin), Alabama hosted Texas A&M (seventh), Georgia played Florida (fourth) at a neutral site. The Irish and Bulldogs both won close games. The Crimson Tide lost at home. Most impressive of the three: Georgia.
Second-best opponent: Notre Dame visited Oklahoma (ninth). Alabama visited LSU (11th). Georgia visited South Carolina (10th). The Irish won by 17 points, the Tide won by four in the final minute, the Bulldogs lost by four touchdowns. Most impressive of the three: Notre Dame.
Third-best opponent: Notre Dame played USC (16th) on the road, never trailed and won by nine. Alabama played Michigan (20th) at a neutral site, never trailed and won by 27. Georgia hosted Vanderbilt (29th) and won by 45. Most impressive of the three: Alabama.
Fourth-best opponent: Notre Dame played Michigan (20th) at home and won by a touchdown. Alabama played Mississippi (33rd) on the road and won by 19. Georgia hosted Mississippi (33rd) and won by 27. All three won. Most impressive of the three: Notre Dame.
Fifth-best opponent: Notre Dame hosted BYU (37th) and won by three. Alabama hosted Mississippi State (36th) and won by 31. Georgia visited Missouri (43rd) and won by 21. All three won. Most impressive of the three: Alabama.
[Watch: Highlights from Notre Dame's victory over USC]
Sixth-best opponent: Notre Dame visited Michigan State (39th) and won by 17. Alabama visited Missouri (43rd) and won by 32. Georgia visited Tennessee (54th) and won by seven. Most impressive of the three: Notre Dame.
Seventh-best opponent: Notre Dame played Miami (52nd) on a neutral field and won by 38. Alabama visited Tennessee (54th) and won by 31. Georgia hosted Georgia Tech (63rd) and won by 32. Most impressive of the three: Notre Dame.
Alabama coach Nick Saban has won two of the SEC's six straight national titles.
Eighth-best opponent: Notre Dame hosted Purdue (62nd) and won by three. Alabama visited Arkansas (65th) and won by 49. Georgia visited Auburn (84th) and won by 38. Most impressive of the three: Alabama.
Ninth-best opponent: Notre Dame hosted Pittsburgh (66th) and won by three in triple overtime. Alabama hosted Western Kentucky (82nd) and won by 35. Georgia visited Kentucky (92nd) and won by five. Most impressive of the three: Notre Dame.
Tenth-best opponent: Notre Dame played Navy (73rd) at a neutral site and won by 40. Alabama hosted Auburn (84th) and won by 49. Georgia hosted Georgia Southern (99th) and won by 31. Most impressive of the three: Notre Dame.
Eleventh-best opponent: Notre Dame hosted Wake Forest (113th) and won by 38. Alabama hosted Florida Atlantic (127th) and won by 33. Georgia hosted Florida Atlantic (127th) and won by 36. Most impressive of the three: Notre Dame.
Worst opponent: Notre Dame visited Boston College (121st) and won by 15. Alabama hosted Western Carolina (204th) and won by 49. Georgia hosted Buffalo (135th) and won by 22. Most impressive of the three: Notre Dame.
Eight times out of 12, the Irish have had the most impressive performance when assessing comparable opponents. Notre Dame is 2-0 against the Sagarin top 10, whereas Alabama is 0-1 and Georgia is 1-1. Notre Dame is 4-0 against the Sagarin top 20, whereas Alabama is 2-1 and Georgia is 1-1.
So don't say the Irish haven't been seasoned by a schedule every bit as difficult – no, more difficult – than the SEC top dogs. And they've had far fewer games where they just had to show up to win. Irish have a better defense as most teams bama played good put up many points... Brian Kelly is a better coach.Google him and you will agree....The Irish are at the beging of many years of being good as the seniors go (most from x-coach recruiting ) we currently have the 4th ranked incoming class again look it up. Hate the Irish fine but dont continue to quote incorrect facts or correct facts based on one game like pitt...we won period..12-0

TO pasesetterpicks: Keep watching spongebob and eating lucky charms you dumb f***. Alabama is playing the Irish so forget about Georgia. Also that 8-12 most impressive wins is the biggest and I mean BIGGEST load of useless s**t I have ever wasted 3 minutes reading in my entire sports following history. Take the Sagarin and shove it up a leprechaun's behind. I know I may seem bias because of my Alabama Icon but I think most people would agree that you are an idiot. Did you spend a week typing this up before the SEC championship so you could post this bullshit when the actual matchup came out? Do everyone a favor and stay away from this website. GL to Bama and Irish but I suggest that everyone stays away from this guys opinion. Let me say this one more time... pacesetterpicks is a toolbag.
