What is the point of making picks if you don't show any analysis?

 Follow based on their record and not cuz you were convinced by their persuasive writing skills. 

That's what I miss most about how the forum used to be you'd see a lot more people posting write-ups.  Now maybe they just don't have the time these days.  I come here more for insight than people just posting picks.  Because I bet my own plays if I were to see someone going opposite of me I may be inclined to change my pick or stay away all together only because they may have had some dam good reasoning I may have over looked but when there is no reasoning you don't know if that person actually did research or just going based on their gut?  When people only posts picks with no reasoning the forum is really no different then the Streak Survivor and tbh I really can't be certain people here who post picks are even betting real money 

Is that your gut telling you people put a lot of time into their plays?  Posting write-ups aren't just for the lazy

 I started on this forum in 2004. Nothing has changed at besides stricter rules regarding what you can't say. It was a rowdy little website forum but same BS. Just make a pick and be done with it. Way too much circle jerking and brown nosing.  This wasn't the case two decades ago just good natured ball busting all the time and the same egotistical losers who blamed the coach, the QB, the team, the crowd, the weather for their brilliant awe inspiring sport insight losing by 3 TDs when they were-6. Sports are very, very unpredictable and predicting the future is incredibly difficult. Better to be lucky than good

Now I may agree with this there have been some guys who only make picks and were absolutely killing it consistently and would say to myself maybe they have some secret system they may not want others to know about but would tail no questions but that is pretty rare like who the hell is hitting 70% these days and is consistent? The last person I remember was MAX58 but he eventually went on to become tout like most do on here

I’ve been doing this for a long time, over 25 years. I have a family and a business. I’m apart of one private forum where I do provide write -ups on occasion. It’s different for everybody, and for me it’s time! 

I understand the other side of it as well. I enjoy a good write up myself.

I get there have been way more A holes and trolls and folks don't like the hassle of posting write-ups here anymore but for me write-ups have always been helpful.  I remember Scalabrine he was dick but he would post these super long write-ups on games I wasn't even thinking about and would hit more than half the time

It's possible that some people like reading write ups because as a player they have in mind what they want to do but, need their decision justified by some analysis that supports their opinion. It's also possible guys need another game for a 10 leg parlay and are looking for some write up that justifies the 10th leg.  If you follow this forum enough you know who the good players are and what their strengths are.  When Eddie Winslow posts he doesn't need analysis to get 70 responses to a 4 word post before the game starts.  Same with Eastside bangers (especially in college basketball and the NFL)  Metallica2467 (especially in the NBA documented last year on the NBA board)  When FranktheBank gets hot and goes on a streak.  There are others.  I don't think anyone joins a forum like this and comes in to post losers regardless of how the selection is made.  The selection is the player's opinion in short form.  Most people don't listen to the weather for the pressure readings and other analysis they just want to know if it's going to rain or not.

Since I played college football, I like looking at the game within the game.

Maybe we should bust it on the research, post the plays, then bet them for you...been around this game for over 40 years... just give me the winners...short and sweet...I will give you a hearty thanks AND toss you a bone... :)

All this talk of write-ups... Just a few words would be nice....opponent and home/away also would be nice too

Keep in mind though that many people post handhelds with carpy intrusive spell-check

1. Most people don't really know enough about football for a real analysis.

2. Again you forgot that I've posted well over 60% the past few years and always better than max
