Disregarding the above stats, I think Mallet is the better QB, but I think AU has the edge on defense. If the Tigers can stall Mallet 1 or 2 times, win the turnover margin, I think their offense will take care of business. Field position will be the most important factor in this game.
BOL I'm staying away. Oh by the way for you people who think i'm against AU, I'm pulling for AU. The more the Tigers win, the higher they are ranked, the better our strength of schedule is for BCS purposes
 

UA has played ...UA. AU has played UT. UA has played Missouri State as well. What makes you think Todd isn't as good as his numbers? I think AUs D is WAY better than UAs. I think Todd piscks UA apart. Remember, Todd beat out Graham Harrell at TT until he was hurt. Also, Shorty, I want a #1 vs #2 Iron Bowl

Todd hasn't faced a premier defense.... and Mallet has...  Yes, Alabama for sure.... but they did nothing against alabama.  What is your point Shorty?  I mean...  you don't really have any grounds to say somebody could have done better than Todd.  Todd has done everything Auburn needs.  He is one of the biggest reason for the success of his team.  He's damn good.  Watch his elusiveness... he is sneaky with it.

I'm not knocking Mallet at all.  I'm simply saying... your point is not a very good one.

And you don't need to pull for Auburn.  as long as Alabama does there job and wins all games... they'll be in the championship game.  But, I wouldn't mind it being an undefeated Iron bowl... of course with Auburn winning.

I'm not knocking Todd. He's doing a great job and exactly what he is asked. Not to mention he's head and shoulders above K. Burns. All I'm saying is the stats posted in earlier posts do not represent the either of the QBs and should not even be considered when capping this game.
 
I don't understand the logic of "beating a THEN ranked 8th overall D" but oh well, that is irrelevant and I digress.
 
So what if Mallet can pick apart the AU defense? So what if Todd airs it out? If they ( Arky or AU) keep the ball out of his hands, he can't pick them apart. In other words, the team that can run the football (control the clock)usually wins in SEC games.
 
Tate and McCalebb are the better tandem IMO.

I should elaborate.   Arky's passing game is better than Auburn's.  (If you ask me why I think that...  go watch the games)..   BUT, it might not matter because Gus Malzahn is a hell of an offensive coordinator who will use both the run AND pass to put up yards.   And he WILL put up a LOT of yards on Arky's D.  On the other hand the Petrino brothers are two of the brightest offensive minds in the college game and they will also put up a LOT of yards on Auburn's D.  Should be a fun game to watch fellas.  But as for betting, I'm staying away.

after talking to a friend of mine down south from what I hear Auburn seems to be talking about ideas of beating Bama and challenging for the SEC crown this year.

I find that amusing but it's good to stay positive I suppose
 
I know the Razorbacks are a nemesis to Auburn
Its just one of those things, they play well against them

I think Arkansas will move the ball plenty on Auburn and this could be a shoot out- Giving the edge to Arkansas with the better passing game.

Auburn is ranked 11th in the nation in rushing at yards per attempt with 5.4....Arkansas is 61st with 4.0 ypa THAT YARD AND HALF IS NOT MUCH CONSIDERING THE DEFENSES AUBURN HAS RAN UP AGAINST. A MUCH IMPROVED D LINE FOR ARK WILL HAVE YOU A LIL SUPRISED TODAY SIR

But wait for it....i know, everyone out there is screaming right now that the passing game is where arkansas really outshines auburn, right? Not so much....arkansas sits at 13th in the nation in yards per attempt at 8.9 ypa, while auburn is 19th in the nation at 8.8 ypa!!! MALLETT AND CO ALL DAY
 
So, this means when you compare Arkansas passing game against Auburn's, the only reason Arkansas "appears" to outshine Auburn in that category is due to auburn consistently establishing the run, which is something arkansas has struggled with this year. ARK FOUND IT VS. A&M


Now, if you tie all this info together and start comparing defenses, i really think auburn comes out on top. 

Arkansas is allowing an average of over 400 yards per game, while auburn is putting up over 500. Arkansas also gave up 500+ yards to georgia who is only averaging about 340 per game. Auburn is allowing 340 yards per game total. ARK D HAS IMPROVED SINCE GA. PROMISE. NOT AS MUCH AS ONE WOULD LIKE, BUT IMPROVED. AUBURN HASN'T FACED AN OFFENSE LIKE THIS YET.

Arkansas is allowing 283 yards per game passing/Auburn is allowing 190. 

Arkansas is allowing 121 yards per game rushing/ Auburn 153. So, Arkansas has the edge in rushing defense, but i would bet my next paycheck auburn outruns arkansas....considering we are averaging 254 ypg vs. arkansas 112 ypg. AUBURNS WEAKNESS PLAYS INTO WHAT IS BECOMING A STRONGER RUNNING GAME FOR ARK

AU looked like complete shit. They were not into the game mentally at all. I completely missed this game. I don't know if AU got a big head or what, but the wheeles fell off on the trip between Alabama and Arkansas. Todd looked like bis mind was in another world. Where has this D been for UA?
