But wait for it....i know, everyone out there is screaming right now that the passing game is where arkansas really outshines auburn, right? Not so much....arkansas sits at 13th in the nation in yards per attempt at 8.9 ypa, while auburn is 19th in the nation at 8.8 ypa!!!
So, this means when you compare Arkansas passing game against Auburn's, the only reason Arkansas "appears" to outshine Auburn in that category is due to auburn consistently establishing the run, which is something arkansas has struggled with this year.
Now, if you tie all this info together and start comparing defenses, i really think auburn comes out on top.
Arkansas is allowing an average of over 400 yards per game, while auburn is putting up over 500. Arkansas also gave up 500+ yards to georgia who is only averaging about 340 per game. Auburn is allowing 340 yards per game total.
Arkansas is allowing 283 yards per game passing/Auburn is allowing 190.
Arkansas is allowing 121 yards per game rushing/ Auburn 153. So, Arkansas has the edge in rushing defense, but i would bet my next paycheck auburn outruns arkansas....considering we are averaging 254 ypg vs. arkansas 112 ypg.
Just looks to me like Auburn is the all around better team.

I like Auburn as well. Arkansas had a lot of pre-season hype based on Petrino and Mallett. Auburn has been producing on the field. O/U looks too high to me. I'd go under first, Auburn small.

Oh the first is definitely Mallett. The Alabama game was absolutely brutal for him as their D is just on a whole different level.

I was just trying to give an accurate reflection of how he will probably perform against Auburn. It's pretty apparent that Mallett is a much better QB than Chris Todd even though the stats don't necessarily show it. Isn't the point here to try and analyze games and numbers to find out what will really happen in future games?

Auburn won its first road game and first game as a dog. The O looked good, as usual, even though they stalled a few times short of the goal line. At least Wes Byrum, SEC sprecial teams player of the week, baild them out (he is 9-10 on FGs with 2 49 yard kicks). Auburn had the lead first for the first time this year. I think that was a big part of the win on the road. Auburn also dominated TOP for the first time. Yet another key to the win inHo. Now to the D. Oh boy. Auburn gave up 410 total yards to a UT O squad that, well, sucks. Crompton had 259 passing yards and 0 INTs. Of the 410 yards mentioned, 203 were in the 4th. Did AU 'quit'? I don't think so. Auburn can not play D like that against Arkansas and expect to win. Special team was much inproved. Auburn showed a little wrinke. Chris Todd did a pooch (sp?) kick. Byrum waas 4/5 on FGs. Foru Tigers combined for 149 return yards on kicks with NO fumbles.
Haven't looked at Arkansas yet.

This shitty UT team played @ the Gators with a healthy Tebow and only lost by 10, 23-13. Auburn goes on the road and beats them up scoring more points then that powerhouse UF offense on a very good D. Auburn only gave up 23 points to UT, yardage is important but points are more important.
Auburns won three straight at Ark and they come in with a ton of momentum agianst a pretty awful Ark defense. Auburn handles them with disciplined play, Ark relies purely on offense.

Sorry man, but you are crazy. Auburn faced Tennessee's defense, which was the 8th best overall defense in the country when we faced them. And guess what? AUBURN PUT UP POINTS AGAINST THEM.....much more than Arkansas' high powered offense can say about their game against Bama.
