'It is going to go one of two ways for them, a great season and they beat back all of their doubters or they suffer a loss at USC and then begin to doubt all over again and lose a few more times'
Great insight we could win all of our games, or lose one or more of them....and by the way, we don't need a bruised ego to struggle at wisconsin, we'll struggle there no matter what...

I don't even think it's possible for the teams to get how many wins you projected (you have 10 of the 11 heading to a bowl game- 6+ wins), but the Big 10 will be better than people think this year. I am by no means a Big 10 guy, and I think the conference will be weak once again, but Ohio St, Wisconsin, and Penn St should all be good teams this year. The B-10 title is up for grabs between OSU and Wisconsin IMO, and Penn St could challenge for it if their new QB works out.
Michigan will be better than most expect and will present A LOT of value this year. The QB position is a huge question mark, but they do have skilled WR's remaining and good RB's. Most of their OL is still there I think, and the defense should be good. People will overract because they lost their big name players, but they prepared for it and have good players waiting in the wings (other than QB, but that's because they missed Pryor and Mallet bailed).
Michigan St and Purdue will be pretty good again this year, but Northwestern, Minnesota, Iowa and Indiana will all suck. Minnesota does have a good recruiting class coming in though.

1. Ohio St.-------Last year was supposed to be a rebuilding type year yet they end up in the title game.....a lot of key junior NFL prospects like Lauranitis and Boone are back.....maybe third time is the charm for them.....USC game is obviously a biggie....
10-11 wins
2. Wisconsin--------loaded at running back, sr. qb, huge O-line, return most of defense......must play better on the road in conf.
9-10 wins
3. Penn St.-----loaded defense, nice O-line and receiving group.....play of qb and rb is the key for them.....extra motivation if Joe Pa's last year......9-10 wins
4. Michigan-------new coach, lose some talent, especially on offense, but at the same time return talent....Carr left program in good shape......qb and rb play key, much like Penn St. 8-9 wins
No way Michigan finishis 4th,they finish 5th at best, and illinois will be in top 4

Can you read? My statement, in essence, says that I don't think they will just lose the USC game. It doesn't say what you say it does. I feel if they beat SC, it will be hard for them to lose to one of the awful teams in the Little 10. If they get hammered, it will be hard for them to stay in the championship race mentally, I think that will lead to a few unexpected losses. Let me know if you can understand this post.

I truly believe if Juice Williams can complete 57-60% of his passes Illinois will be a team to watch in the Big 10.
I agree the conference shouldn't be weak, but it should be remembered that Ohio St really wasn't expected to be in the Title game last season, all that had to happen was EVERYONE lose.

Well, Juice completed 57% last year, way up from just under 40% the previous year. A similar improvement would be mindblowing. Replacing Mendenhalls 1300+ rushing yardage poses a problem, IMHO. With Michigan in flux, I'd say the License to ILL Boys have A REAL SHOT.

Let's wait and see if PSU can get a whole defensive starting line-up to stay out of trouble and qualify academically before we assume anything about them.
