I agree with all those!!! Love Miss State too. I just don't see the Vols covering 8.

DY, sorry to trash your thread with multiple post, but let me ask you why you like Georgia so much? These teams have played extremely tight games the last three years, and see the same for this year's game. I just don't see any value in -15 (or 14.5 whatever it is now). What am I missing here?

Ok on to UGA vs Vandy:

Couple of things that stand out to me. For 1 considering how Vandy is ranked in the top 25 and was just ranked in the top 15 before last week i would have expected this line to be around 7-10 points. I think the way they set the line was to encourage the money on Vandy because like you said Vandy has played them tight last 3 games and Vandy's team has been outstanding this year, top 25, blah blah all that. Now on to the meat and potatoes of this game.

Vandys primary offensive weapon is the run game. They are basically nothing if they cant run the ball as you saw against Miss st last weekend. UGA's rushing defense is there strength BY FAR. They only give up 2.2 yards per rush. Vandy will be better suited to pass the ball against UGA, but im not so sure they are set up to do that because they havent been able to pass the ball all year long. Vandy has played 6 games so fafr this year and out of those only 1 game have they passed for more than 100 yards

. BTW that was for 150 yards against Auburn. That 1 sided attack doesnt stand a chance against UGA. UGA has been VERY good against the run all year and there is no way they can win or even stay close running the ball in this game.

UGA's offense is suprisingly doing very well passing the ball. They lead the SEC in passing offense and Vandy is among the bottom 3 in passing defense giving up over 6 yards per pass. Vandys total defense is among the worst in the SEC and will be exposed vs UGA this weekend.

The way i think this game plays out is UGA comes out to an early lead which forces Vandy away from there game plan of running the football. They are forced to pass the ball which isnt going to turn out well for them because there is a reason they have had only 1 game with over 100 yards passing. I think UGA wins this game in a blow out, UGA needs some statement wins after the tough loss to Bama and this right here is where it will start.

Arkansas is likely my biggest play this week. I think they might just be better than Kentucky. As long as Dick doesn't throw INTs, I think they win straight up.

Adding:

Boston College -2

I am betting with a trend i have followed over the past couple of years (but went against earlier in the year). The trend is unranked teams laying points vs a ranked team. The results have been very good ATS. So far this year its 1-0, last year ill have to look back but i dont remember it ever losing. Not to mention Boston College is statistically better in alot of areas than VT.

I don't understand why people jumped all over LSU vs Florida, they never had a chance, and that's coming from an LSU fan. Look in the LSUvsFlorida game thread for my initial take on the game.

LSU was ranked in the top 5, base on perception. They played nobody up till Auburn, and I still think that game did not count as good competition.

Usually, a team has one fast guy on offense, either at the receiver or RB position. Florida has like what, 6 on offense

. Now put at least 3 of them on the field at the same time, and I promise you, no one can stop them, if they put the ball into those players hand.

We got beat, purely on speed alone. Florida is filled with track stars at the skill positions, and Meyer knows how to use them. If it was one Harvin or Rainey on the field, this game would be alot closer.

Florida will be in the National Champioship, if they play the way they did against LSU, every week. LSU is in a rebuilding year, has a two first year starting QBs, heading into the Swamp to play a team that just lost last week at home. Now why would anyone bet against Florida

Arkansas is a team that's coming around, and Kentucky has too many injuries to recoup their season. I called for Arkansas to hang and perhaps upset Kentucky last week, I think they can do it again against the Wildcats.

I have one simple rule for betting LSU games, bet them up till week 4, fade them or leave it alone after that. They hardly blow any SEC opponents out, but they do make the games enjoyable to watch. That is my warning

dyounger, this is what I love about your threads, they are always useful and full of good explanations and points. I always come back after a game in which I was dead wrong. You had Florida pegged all week and never wavered at all. What bothered me most of all in that game was LSu takes the 2nd half kick off and jams it right down Florida's throat to make it a 20-14 game and the crowd was out the game. So what does LSU do? That big bad defense lays down ther rest of the game and in turn relys on a freshman QB to win the game!!!!! NOT. Florida just gave LSU a good ole SEC ass kickin plain and simple. Now LSU travels to see the old ball coach and then host Georgia before playing Alabama!!! Doesn't get any easier in the SEC does it? Congrats to you and all Gator backers.

Nice job on another good week.

You are always a great source of knowledge for SEC info. With you on Ole Miss and Ark. Glad to see you on RU. They are having a horrible year, but have been in games and covered the past 2 weeks on the road. Glad you spotted that BC trend. I think the numbers are even better for that trend when its a home team also. GL this week and keep it coming

Coach Rich Brooks confirmed at least a torn MCL ligament from a hyper-extended knee, but cautioned against speculating on how long Lyons might be sidelined pending more testing.

DY,

That RU/UConn game was exactly what I was thinking in terms of the line. The minute it came out, I saw the trap being set. Still a no play for me, but it says take RU all over it.

ARky is a must play. We've gone through this already. From what I have been told by family members of Dicky Lyons he will not play this week.

LSU -3 is a light line. You know I played UF last week, and leaned towards Miss St the game prior (no play for me) I dont make homer plays.

Vandy +15 is a play that I like. I think Vandy is better than Tenn & SC; and UGA didnt beat either of them by 14+. Over 2td's is too high in this one.

I already played GT +2 but that line will drop.

I also jumped on Wiscy +4 That line is off.

I will most likely be playing Miss ST +8 at Tenn. ML too.

jp1lsu- Still unsure about Miss st, seems a little easy for me to take them, maybe im just overthinking it. Something about UGA line screams to take vandy, vandy was a 7 point dog last time they met, now they are supposedly way better yet are a 15 point dog?I know Vandy was @ home last time, but still. UGA to the bank for me.

Warblade- Agree with everything you say about Florida, they are def. the top team in the SEC.

petaplot- LSU not a top 10 team this year, prob more like a top 25-30. Florida has ALOT of speed, dont know if i have seen a team with that much speed in a long time

Whats your opinion on the Ga Tech bet now? The line has gone to Clemson -1 and I'm a little worried about the tigers playing harder now that bowden is gone (clearly the play makers didn't like him). What do you think about it?

Dugie- I dont know, if i had known all this was going to happen i wouldn't have bet the game. Atleast with Bowden in at head coach you know what your getting. Could go either way, im sticking with my bet, i still dont know what the interim coach is going to be able to differently with there offensive line.
