Tideman... i really think both teams have improved significantly since last year's meeting in Nebraska... that game was not close, even though the final score made it look like it was...
 
couple things to consider:  NU is looking impressive because they have covered two games against very weak teams... Marshall would beat either of Nebraska's first two opponents... and VT's game against Alabama has them tuned up and ready to play at a higher level than Nebraska...
 
the running game for VT is gonna be scary against any team that doesn't have a defense as strong as Bama's... and meanwhile, VT has a stronger defense than the Huskers, even though they are improved...
 
Blacksburg gets about a 6 pt homefield advantage value... one of the biggest in CFB...
 
if a lesser VT team (with serious QB issues last year) could romp Nebraska on the road... i feel pretty comfortable laying a small number with a much better team that has resolved those QB issues at home...

I got em at -4 though hang in there even I go on losing streaks LOL!!!

I'm with Bib on this one . V Tech played Bama toe too toe until the last 7 minutes. Nebraska gets embarrased here    V. Tech 31 Nebraska 14

So I think what you are inferring is that by LOSING by 10pts to Alabama, they did so graciously I guess in your opinion. Well in my opinion they flat out looked overated... And by WINNING by 42 pts against MIGHTY MARSHALL, you feel they were tested by a quality opponent? Whatever dude.

You were comparing stats for 2 teams who have played opponents that can not be compared. All that I am stating. Not sure how VT looked overrated against Bama. They hung tough but Bama wore them out and they got rolled in the 4th. If you think Nebraska is the same caliber as Bama then good luck with you wager

Bibendi- you are a great capper and sometimes shit doesnt go as planned. Sometimes I dont like some plays that you have but I dont get on here and shit you about it. Half of the haters probably dont do their work and just tail blindly. But oh well I Love Haters that make life fun.....

I'am not sure which team you would like my reasoning for, as I've not yet made a decision on the Miami/G.T. GAME?...But here are a few things that have me taking the points for Nebraska...

The coaching matchup in this game heavily favors V Tech- it's no contest.  Beamer will still be winning games for the Hokies in three seasons while Pelini will have moved on to his next DC gig.

I'm from Nebraska and am a big Husker fan.  That being said, I would not bet on Nebraska in this spot, they're too young at LB, too inexperienced at QB and too soft in the secondary.  But for you to say that in 3 years Pelini will have moved on to his next DC gig, you've lost all credibility.  Pelini is a hard-nosed coach who is loved in Nebraska and gets the fullest potential out of his players.  Though we're not back yet and will likely never get back to where we once were, Pelini is a guy that can atleast get us back on the national map.

Pelini kind of reminds me of another coach..... FRANK BEAMER

Take a look at SMU at Wash. St. I think there is some value there while its under a TD. Wash St. also has 4 people out due to injuries... Just trying to spread the wealth/knowledge broski!!! Thanks to my man boooooo!!

Look at cincy as well....You like defense and they havent missed a beat after losing all starters except 1 I think..... Oregon St is gonna have to handle a gun slinger in Pike!!!! More value!!!!

I don't think any credibility is lost.  Pelini hasn't done shit yet.  Comparing Pelini to Beamer is more of a crediblity risk.  Frank Beamer is 176-90-2 at V Tech.

If you have been around the college forum AT ALL this summer, you would know, what that ment. I actually have higher expectations of this VT team than Bib does. I have 1/2 on them to win it all, 2 Units on them over 9 wins, and 2 Units on them to win the ACC. So, go walk your dog into oncoming traffic.
 
I can't believe I have to bring up stats in the 1st 2 games, but how about FIU had the same amount of 1st down and more passing yrds than Neb. Or how about Ark St out rushed them 143 to 136.
 
How about Neb hasn't beaten a ranked team since Tex AM in 06, thats a 1-10 rec during that time.
 
How about I think VT ST will set them up inside Neb 20 or score more points than them. How about they are the better rushing team and the better D?.
 
How about a game in blacksburg is worth 3-4 pts.
 
I'll go with that.
