Do you remember the scene where the warden throws Andy in the hole for insulting him?

In that scene right after he threatens to throw Andy down with the Sodomites, he says:

"And the library....Gone. Sealed of brick by brick. We'll have us a little book barbecue in the yard. They'll see the flames for miles."

Well that folks, is what you will be passing up with Penn State if you fail to take them or worse, pick against them.

This team, this motivation, this story, will be gone...All gone. It will all come down next year. Brick by brick.

This offense. The most explosive, dynamic and impressive offense I have seen of any Penn State team in my lifetime.

Gone. Next year it is gone.

Players will declare for the draft. Things will change.

The defense? Gone. Not the same. You get both sides of the ball here folks. Remember Cabinda and Bell came back from injury against Purdue? Then both sides of ball came into full bloom and they haven't looked back since. 45 points in the second half.

Folks I've seen Purdue get their a** kicked up and down a field dozens of times in the Hazell era. I've never seen a slaughter like I saw in that second half against Purdue. 45 points and the floodgates now opened, haven't stop gushing a raging river through them.

Recently, I've come with the statistics to support my picks, a more micro-cap.

But macro-cap's, a deviation away from the numbers, a bigger picture cap, can serve a right side well.

And the bigger picture is this:

This is the best offense I've ever seen on a Penn State team.

The defense is impressive.

This story, of Penn State's revival from the Paterno scandal will never be more at the forefront. The momentum that carries, that revival, is powerful. Very powerful. You get that here in this side.

This coach, and how he motivates and connects with players will never be stronger.

All of this....gone. Next year. Gone. Different. Not the same. The story changes. 

You have it all right here NOW.

Now you could counter "Scal, You could use the same argument for me to take the best Bama team ever under Saban!"

Yes I could.

And LOOK AT THE PRICE YOU PAY for that side. One of the highest spreads of all time in an SEC championship game. That's one hell of a price. An insane price. 4 TD's just to START to get over the number against a stingy D that can ugly up the game just like LSU did.

What's your price here? You GET 3 points against a Wisky team that has an excellent defense. But this is not an all-time defense. And the offense, outside of running back, is unremarkable.

Penn State knows exactly what to do. Stop the run and have this QB be it Houston or Houston/Hornibrook beat you.

And I don't think they can do it. And if I'm Houston or Hornibrook tonight I am having trouble hitting the sack knowing what this D brings. I'd take the PSU ML here but I think the points are such valuable insurance, gift-wrapping a mis-step to the bettor.

So it's your choice. This Penn State team will never be the same again in a Big Ten Championship. You get them today in their current incarnation.

I have one last thing to add....Am I being Obtuse??? I can't give another month to think about it. You have 20 hours.

No use handicapping a title game... these things have a way of breaking hard one way or the other.

You're the one who is fading team D against better competition in Penn State ranked 20th in the nation in total D (suddenly this is chopped liver to many posters here).

Look at who Wisky has played down the stretch: Purdue, Illinois, Minnesota (a team that almost lost to Rutgers...An angle I've used twice to make a lot of money off of), Northwestern, Nebraska, Iowa.

They bolstered all their Defensive stats against total trash.

Penn State will have enough offense to win it. How anyone is laying points here with a line that translates to Wisky -6 at home, is insane.

Who watched this Wisky/Minnesota game? Who watched Wisky barely put up any points on lousy Iowa in a snooze-fest (PSU put up 41 on them sleepwalking through the game)?

Who is watching these games and thinks, "Oh yes, this Wisky team will derail everything Penn State has built and ran with this season".

Well, we'll see tomorrow on the field of play.
