Penn State hiring process....

Give my guy Terry a chance! Joe Pa said it himself that Terry was the best wideout in the country in his eyes during his tenure on the roster. Thats all you need. You're validated by the man that built Penn State from the ground up!

Terry clearly knows how to recruit and has given this traveling fanbase a chance at a bowl! Yes Franklin brought in the business side of things... thats when Patrick Kraft needs to set aside personal business endeavors regarding NIL funding. I'm not fully informed on how Kraft runs that but I know for a fact Franklin had a big hand in it. Reasons why he stated he was looking for a coach that could bring funds in. 

I assure you that Franklin will bring Virginia Tech to the promise land and I look forward to it! He recruited heavily in the DMV... especially in my exact location in Maryland.

Give Terry a year or two.

I'm hoping the reports was a smoke screen. If Kalani was to be hired, I'll act like Penn state does not exist in this dimension. He is not a coach for this program. Maybe Oregon....  I love what he has done for BYU.... Making non-relevant teams competitive is good for any sport. The more, the better! The tweets from individuals calling this potential hire a big plus for Penn state shows you people don't understand political visual hires! YOU HAVE TO LOOK THE PART IN ANYTHING YOU DO!!!

I want to make it clear I’m not disagreeing with you - I will say I’m not sure having JP say Terry was the best WR in the nation when he was playing necessarily means JP felt he’d be a great heir apparent. Seems a little flawed logic. 

The whiff on Fitz, Kalani and whoever else they tried to get should lead to what you seek and I think he’s done an admirable job and deserves a shot. If so it’s up to him to live up to the pressure and keep the job. I’m rooting for him. Seems like a good dude and a great Lion. 

PS - I agree with you Todd: No west coast dandy can take an east coast powerhouse where its fan base expects it to go. No sir. 

Not “east coast” or hell, powerhouse but look at what Jonathan Smith did at MSU. Straight garbage after being a Belle of the ball at Oregon State. Fitz will have that mess cleaned up in 2-3 years. Why? Because he’s a B1G guy and he knows how to recruit and coach in his region. 

I should have went into more context but what I was pertaining to was you have to really be of Pennsylvania culture in some shape or form to fit this job. Terry has shown to win games… Shows he loves the job…. Played for this team and received historical positive comments from the legend himself…. All these things checks off certain boxes when labeling who you want to run your program at a school like PSU. 

Look at Mike Rhodes for example…. Penn st Basketball’s coach. Born and raised in Mahanoy, PA. Only two hours from Penn St. went to a small school at Lebanon Valley, a D-3 school… which shows the grind from the gutter in the PA area. 

You have to look the part. I’m happy we got whiffed on those names. Fitz has a very pride unapproachable feel to himself. He’s perfect for Michigan St. 

Crazy thing I wouldn’t mine a Jon Gruden interview but wow I forgot he was from a certain part of Ohio… I think it could be an automatic no from Kraft on that one! 

At this point Penn St fans have to be concerned. All the big names are gone. Like are they going to shoot for an NFL coordinator?

 Good elaboration. I completely agree there as it relates to understanding the region and what it takes to win. I’m a big Mike Rhodes guy and that’s a great comp. 

I think Terry gets his shot for now. He’ll be looking over his shoulder quickly but at this point I think he’s the best available guy for the job. 

IMO this BYU coach has not proven much of anything and I would predict if they hire him he will not survive an extended period of time.

Time to take the check book out!! Nick Saban wife said there is a number she just has not seen it yet!! Figure it out!! Saban!! Lets Go .... WE ARE ....

Matt Campbell is the next guy they are trying to hire.  Would be a great hire if he accepts.  He's made Iowa State tough

I am Penn State to the core....Blow that shit up...Those kids quit ion Franklin the guy who embraced them at PSU. 

Joe always said.  If you quit once you will quit again and again. Who is the next coach they are going to quit on because it's not their way.

We have to get back to recruiting diehard PennStaters like BEngram,IvoryGathers,ChrisMazyck... those are top athletes who left their southern states to bleeb blue and white....we need those type kids.
