they have already tried, and they said hell to the nah...we are penn staters...just like breneman will, ryan switzer and hopefully henry puggi, and the last will go on.

Michigan has filled up half their class anyway and Bill O"brien can offer them playing time.

These kids that have already committed are all huge penn state fans all their life besides and none are bigger than Breneman.

An early recruiting push for members of the football class of 2013 continued over the weekend for Penn State as a four-star New Jersey defensive end committed to the Nittany Lions and their new coaching staff.

Garrett Sickels gave Penn State coach Bill O’Brien his commitment on Saturday, according to scout.com. The 6-4, 230-pound junior from Red Bank Regional High in Little Silver, N.J., ranked as the 50th-best overall recruit in the country, opted to cancel visits to Ohio State and Notre Dame after his visit to State College on junior day a couple of weeks ago. Alabama and Tennessee were also on Sickels’ offer list.

“I wanted to see the new coach and how everyone responded, and they got up and they’re moving forward,” Sickels told The Asbury (N.J.) Park Press. “It [the Sandusky scandal] didn’t change my mind on anything. I knew that wasn’t truly what Penn State was.”

In a detailed interview with scout.com, Sickels called the decision a “no-brainer.”

He also said he likes how new Penn State defensive coordinator Ted Roof “lets his defense unleash. They always have good D-linemen and it’s something I want to be a part of,” he told Scout.

Sickels recorded 76 tackles for Red Bank Regional, which finished 5-5 in 2011.

Sickels becomes Penn State’s third recruit for next fall’s senior class. He’ll join quarterback Christian Hackenberg of Fork Union Military Academy in Virginia and cornerback Ross Douglas of Avon, Ohio.

All three have been labeled four-star recruits.

Penn State is also on list of Cedar Cliff tight end Adam Breneman, who has said he’ll announce his choice of schools on Friday.

The effects of the Sandusky ordeal will be felt for a long time.  Your blind love for Paterno and the university has obviously clouded your judgment.  Time to take off the homer glasses.

lol...4 top recruits already...one of them the best TE in the nation...this is going to Penn State's best recruiting class in the past 5 years....

The Sandusky ordeal is over it seems.

he will announce next friday at 7pm.  he announced he has come to a decision a day after hackenberg commits.

adam breneman commits...#22 nationally by rivals, #1 tight end.

sets us up with two top 50 rivals players, 4 top 250 rivals and 4 top espnu150 recruits.

these guys have vowed to recruit and continue the momentum.

expect ryan switzer to be next and he will be our wes welker, with a couple lineman real close too.

breneman said tonight he is so ready to start a new era at penn state and build on past traditions.  he said he could not stomach to watch our great university be tarnished any longer.  he feels its his duty.

like i said when i started this thread, even i cannot believe it..then an idiot got his hate on...i digress

the best thing is these kids love penn state and bill o'brien.  this doesnt speak to billy though, impressive as it may be.  this speaks to our academics, student body, campus and joe paterno.

this has truly been gratifying, if not surpising.

no one man is bigger than the university, the university will always live on and prosper.

when joe died i had a whiskey and water for him.  after watching breneman commit tonight i had a beer and it tasted so dam good.  even my wife knew how happy i was and was so happy for me and the program.  a small step to restoring our allure, but a big one at the same time.

cheers jersey  this meant a lot tonight to stabilizing our program and then enhancing it.

    thisguyiswise-

People who are critical of a "situation" aren't always "haters" as you call them. Yes it is surprising to see Penn St. get such verbal commitments. However, things will change between now and next year. It changes for all teams. The upcoming trial could have an adverse effect as well. That remains to be seen. It seems Penn st. could be a contender sooner rather than later but a game has yet to be played with O'Brian and his new staff. He could turn out to a good coach or a terrible coach. Who knows. I like how you say one man isn't bigger than a program but that's not how it was when Joe Pa was still at Penn St. I wish the players at Penn St. the best as they never played for Sandusky and weren't involved in all that mess. However, I think hard times remain for Penn St. and its football program. Only time will tell.

Hey blowout.......using logic on this guy won't work. You hit the nail squarely on the head though.  Once a trial starts and all the laundry gets aired, all bets are off. We shall see.

Greg Webb commits today, DT, #78 overall in country by rivals

    6.. 4 stars now
1.. no star who will be at least a 3 once ranked

Hackenberg and Breneman are doing work with recruiting.
