Why is the Penn State job attractive? It is not in the top 4 jobs in the big 10.

because it has history  ......... and if you go there and bring it back to its glory well then you become a college football good ... and $$$$$$$$$  Penn State is a money machine!!

Penn State football program is #3 on Forbes list for college football programs.  The only show in town.  Have a huge following, especially in the east coast, specifically NY.

$$ talks and they have plenty of it.  facilities are top notch, and #1 bcs school for education.  just a few off my head.

No more history than Nebraska, michigan or Ohio State. Its history spans only Joe Pa and several other big 10 schools have a longer history than Joe Pa. The only attraction to Penn St is East Coast recruiting as I see it.

WRONG...Mark Parker is Nike CEO, their third CEO..and he is a graduate of Penn State

There has been talk with the new Pac 12/Big 10 matchups upcoming Nike is looking for an East Coast Oregon that of course Phil Knight sponsors to the tilt.  Now that Mark Parker is CEO, he could pull a Phil Knight if he wants with Nike as has been reported.

Phil Knight is Chairman of the Board @ Nike and basically is Oregon...Just like how Kevin Plank is trying to take over Maryland with Under Armour.

As a fan of OU, I would hate to see Stoops leave, but on the otherhand I think he has lost a lot of fire and has become a little bored in Norman, maybe a new challenge would do him some good.  A lot of players have been leaving the program in the last couple of weeks maybe they know something we don't!!

with that said, and IF that were to be the case, lets be honest, there are only a few men to be hired with those descriptions to do that.  and i believe saban or stoops in my opinion are the most likely in that scenario.

while peterson or richt would simply be 2 run shots to tie a game, they certainly would not be as dramatic.

 Peterson is the only guy that would be an "8.0"..............everybody wants him but no one has been able to lure him away........yet. Getting Saban would be mildly surprising but not much..........he's a mercenary.

Don't forget tradition....Looks like they've got new tradition now....A really ugly traditon called the Happy Vally dirty little secret. And I still say Joe Pa and several others still ain't out of the woods yet with respect to federal obstruction of justice, ie conspiracy to cover up...
