Ohio St Buckeyes, Best Team Ever?

Hate to break it to you, but if LSU wins out they WILL be playing in the NC game.  It is just wishful thinking on your part to believe anything else.  I can’t blame you for not wanting to play LSU because if OSU plays LSU in the title game, then both teams will have a repeat of their 41-14 bowl games last year.  Sorry OSU fans.

If OKL beats Kans, they will probably be in, because LSU will probably play Georgi or another weak team in the SEC title game and it will be totally overshadowed by the Big 12 title game, which may have 2 top 5 teams. No no dude.  GF is saying he sees OSU being a 4 point favorite over LSU....I can see why he would think that.  I am not gonna make a prediction because I think that LSU is going to get beat again or KU wins out.  I just dont think OSU ...IF they make it to the MNC... thier opponent mostly won't be LSU. 

I think it will be and OSU Oregon tilt.

You start to see the arguement for this OSU team fall apart.  I can tell you without a doubt that this OSU team does not excell in every aspect. 

Pretty soon you are gonna say the reason Patton chewed up so much ground in central Europe was because that brilliant Plan Montgomery had to Take the Arnhem bridge kept the german's attention focused up north.

Ohio State has played NOBODY. They have played only TWO teams in the BCS Top 30: Penn State and Wisconsin.

Wisconsin is the only team ranked who they have played so far this season. Wisconsin will lose again because their D is putrid. Illinois isn't ranked and another OSU win over unranked Big10 team will not improve this stat. Michigan, once again, is the ONLY team on their schedule worth a shit and we watched them get rolled by Oregon and App State.

Ohio State will roll into the BCS NC again, untested, and get rolled by whoever meets them.

..and don't get me started on Kansas.

Penn State Nittany Lions, Best Team Ever ?

I mean they beat Wisconsin by 31 and OSU only beat them by 21, and so Penn State is at least ten points better than OSU.  OSU was lucky to beat them at Penn State.  If Penn State had just defended the pass better and sacked Boeckman more than one time, and if Morelli had just completed more passes, they would have won.

And if Morelli didn't fumble on his own 10 and if Austin Scott didn't fumble on the Michigan 10, Penn State would have beaten Michigan. 

And if Penn State played better defense, they would have beaten Illinois.

If all these things happened, Penn State would be undefeated.  The reason they did not happen was just a fluke.  Based on the evidence, the question of whether Penn State is the best team ever deserves consideration just like one astute poster has raised the question about Ohio State.

Penn State certainly would have no problem with any team in the SEC, just like Ohio State would have no problem, as evidenced by Penn State beating Wisconsin by more than OSU did and as evidenced by SEC Florida's fluke 41-14 win over OSU last year.

this team will not be ranked at years end neither will anyone else osu plays except maybe mich but does a team that gets beat by a app st deserve to be anywhere near the top 25? i think most would say no unless your from mich that is

OK, Dapook, you sound like a self-proclaimed expert, what area isn't the OSU not excelling in? what part of the game?  And the 1995 Nebraska team was a great running team, if they needed to throw the ball to win they were in trouble, you know that, they had a great defense too. Now the great USC teams did not have a great defense, in 2004 they gave up about 13 PPG, in 2005 about 24 PPG, and Texas scored 41 on them in the NC.

ROFL.... the 95 nebraska team was NEVER in trouble, so they didnt have to throw the ball.... USC's 04 championship team dominated on defense, just ask adrian peterson and heisman winner jason white.... even usc's 05 team that sucked on defense would destroy this years ohio state team

on what are you basing any of this confidence that you have?  their impressive road victory over Washington?  yea... they're good!  or rolling through the Big 10 schedule?  you're still not getting that they have yet to play a quality team... NOT ONE!  so where do you get this confidence and bravado?

you're gonna lay points against LSU?  LSU has played about 7 teams that are better than anyone OSU has beaten... does the term battle tested mean anything to you?  i'm not even that impressed with LSU... but i'll take a team who can get through their hostile schedule over a team that is playing powder puff football every week every time...

and how do you figure they would roll WV?  once again... WV is miles ahead of any team they have played, and that would include Michigan... they have not seen an offense that even comes CLOSE to WV this year... and oh yea... they have not seen a defense that even comes CLOSE to WV this year... and WV is the weakest team they would potentially face in the title game...

let's talk about Michigan, since they are a good indicator of the strength of the Big 10 (so is OSU for that matter... losing to UW well into the 3rd quarter)... Michigan's last non-conference (not including ND) game was an ass-whooping to Oregon in the Big House... since then everyone says "oh, they're much better now"... based on WHAT???  that they have made it through their Big 10 + ND schedule?  who cares?  all of those teams are very pedestrian...

Mich lost to Oregon (badly) and App St...
Purdue had to hold off a fierce rally against ND!
Penn St had less than impressive wins against Buffalo and ND!
Mich St struggled against Pitt and Bowling Green at home!
Wisc needed a last minute scoring drive to beat UNLV!!!
NW lost to DUKE!!!

arguably the most impressive performance by any Big 10 school out of conference is by Illinois, LOSING a close game at home against Missouri... that's the impressive showing of the year for the Big 10...

so i have an idea... how about we wait until a Big 10 team beats a quality team outside of the Big 10, then we can start talking about a team from the Big 10 NOT BEING A JOKE!

once again... WV would ROLL over OSU, until proven otherwise... WV plays real teams from real conferences...

you're talking about statistics to argue for the greatest teams of all time... but those statistics mean absolutely nothing against a schedule of nobody's... do you not see how much of an insult this is to 100+ years of college football???

you're gonna compare this team to USC's team of 2004?  to the Nebraska team of 1995?  shit!  virtually every top team from every year for the past 30 years... because the statistics of those teams came against at least a few quality opponents... USC dominated a team (OU) that was manhandling every opponent they played that year...

USC from 2004 would beat this OSU team by AT LEAST 3 TDs...
