whoa CFB forum is really dying off the last couple weeks not many cappers left

looks like we've got 1-2pts better of early movement again, of course this year it will never make any difference even across key numbers

yearly CFB goal of making 30+ units pretty unlikely, fortunate to have made goal last 3 years here (44,38,33), still a couple left this week and taking some shots during bowl season to get on the plus side for the CFB year, glad to be off to good start in college basketball to offset, random variance since better long term with football, unfortunately long term do not come in nice 57-43 buckets, variance/luck (good and bad) is part of the business

speaking of units.....totally meaningless unless divided by average wager, have never really understood why someone would have most or all wagers as 2-3u (or even 5-10) as opposed to one unit average at higher dollar per unit (net same)..hilarious watching the boneheads who can't figure it out

Buying hooks in the long run WILL cost you money.  The only number that has arguably warranted close to a break even (pending on the book) historically is the number 3.  Otherwise you're just wasting money.

ksu - with you there on the Sooners, doubt Martinez is 100% and if so Burkhead/Glenn QB probably not going to work as it did against CU

maine - yeah most years if you get the better of 2-3pts on a couple games a week you can usually get 4-5 game edge, just one of those years that happens every few

nccapper - since I like NIU 45-13, the 17 wouldn't bother me

gcnmoo - true, buying the half more than a few times a year is not worthwhile in the long run, usually try a couple early in the year and if get a push on one then next 10 are basically paid for and can try a few more, normally 10-15 a year, ultimately it makes very little difference unless making the mistake of buying too often...i.e. if buy on 11 games during year and push one and miss 10 it's a wash, just not a big determining factor either way
