regarding a 16-team playoff format... it can't work... it has to be 8-team or nothing... reason is, all of the "detractors" for a playoff system use this argument: the regular season is the playoffs, and if you make a playoff system the importance of each game is lost... well... that argument is complete bullshit in an 8-team format, because you still cannot afford a single slip up if you want to make sure you are in the top 8... but in a 16-team format, teams like Florida and USC can pretty much sleepwalk through the season and they will still always be in the playoffs...

has to be a balance so you can make the idiot playoff-haters happy, otherwise we will not get a playoff... and the argument that "8 teams means #9 gets left out" is also bullshit... as it stands, #9 is nowhere near the NC game... so they have no reason to bitch... if they can't get into the top 8 they have no argument that they deserve a shot...

just my 2 cents...

 Ia agree... fading MSU in big ball games was great this year ... Ohio st. and PSU owned them ...Hoyer only Completes 50% of his throws... I think Richt will the dawgs ready...

I have 11 teams in my Playoff... and to be Honest the Most teams I would like to see the NCAA use is 6//// top 2 getting the BYE....

I feel the BCS got it right and RIGHT NOW Oklahoma and Florida are the 2 Best teams ...

I think Pat White goes out a winner even with the Game in Charlotte...
 
Recall, we just had Pat White Love Fest '08  in Monrgantown last week, and it was all the 'Neers could do to beat an average South Florida team in the snow.  I don't care how much love (all deserved by the way) is flowing Pat's way in Charlotte, I think WVU (who appears to have two, maybe three, plays in its offensive arsenal) will be hard pressed to beat UNC.   That said, Charlotte is not exactly in the heart of Heel Country, and the Mouties should travel well.  Heels will get a home field edge, but only a mild one.

Yes Brother Maine Road you are right .. WVA has looked has not looked all that impressive this season ... Best Wins were over a Ice Cold Rutgers team , Very average Auburn , and UConn who they own ... The Offense is really Vanilla and I laughed my ass off when you said they onl have 2 or 3 plays ... Betting on them this year I beleiev I yelled that at the TV atleast 50 Times... Butch Davis has done a great Job with the Heels ...Should be a very good game and I totally Understand why it is a Pick'em... Not sure which way I will go ?? only Times will tell...

Love most of your picks...my concern is your Texas play.  I guess I'm a homer for Big 10 teams (well some) but Ohio State is finishing strong and I think they get the job done in the Fiesta Bowl.  Terrell Pryor is coming around and Beanie Wells is going to be extremely healthy now.  I really can not make an excuse for Ohio State not being who we thought they were this season but they are a good football team.  I really see Big 10's only wins (not ATS wins but SU wins) comes from the BCS games.  Now I am not going to knock Texas down b/c I believe they are an extremely talented football team.  McCoy really concerns me for his mobility and poise in the pocket.  I respect your pick but I'm going with Ohio State for now.  Good luck with the rest of your plays because I like most of them.  Will write to you again if I have any other concerns.

While Ohio St. did improve later in the year... The Buckeyes did not play one team with a Offense Half as good as Texas...

McCoy will be driving the Horns Up and down the Field all night ..  I see Texas Scoring anywhere from 38 to 55...

The Horns were an amazing 57.1 % on 3rd downs .. and 83% on 4th down ...

Texas had 26 First downs a game to Ohio st's 17...

I  see Pryor forcing alot and turning the Ball Over as when Ohio St gets down 2 scores ...

IMO that is ...  .

Playing the Under myself on that Navy game no way they score 50 points in this game.  Both Defenses will be jacked for this game.  I have this at 37 points total for both I got the under first half at 17 points .  You got me nervous now

Both D's have been Playing Much better....

The ACC has some Teams with some Very Good  UnderRated D's .... 

Wake Better stop the Run , Will they be up for Navy ?  

I See Big Plays From both teams 

Navy Rushing for 225+ and Wake Throwing for 275+..

Up to you buddy either way you go I just can't see the offense for Wake they average 188 yards passing a game and Navy gives up an average of 212.  While Wake strength is against the run so up to you buddy I just don't think it is going this way but you could be right that is why they call it gambling.  GL this Bowl season.

A Decent matchup of teams that were once Rivals in the WAC... Neither team comes close to stopping the run Fresno (197.3) Colorado St. (185.3) ...
Fresno St. has been killed by Injuries all year,Losing top RB Ryan Matthews, Superstar TE Bear Pascoe , and run stuffing DT Jon Monga .. Mattews has returned to light Practice and should be watched to see if he Plays.. After finishing 9-3 Last year Fresno St. was hoping for much more than a Trip to the New Mexico Bowl...
Colorado St. on the Other hand should be excited to be here ..Fairchild did a Great Job this year with the Rams Finishing 6-6 in the very good MWC ... I ragged on Fairchild all Offseason and thought C St. made a horrible hire after watching Steve look Lost coaching the Buffalo Bills Offense ..

Another Matchup of Former Conference Foes(CUSA)...
USF has not thinking about this Bowl at any point during the season .. The Orange Bowl was the Goal and this team had almost zero chance of getting there...
QB Matt Grothe once again led the team in rushing(not what USF wanted)..Matt makes alot of mistakes 15 TD's and 14 INTS this year..
The Bulls have not scored more than 20 in it's last 5 games (Oct 18th)
 
Memphis coach Tommie West is Amped to playing a BCS school in a Bowl . His Offense has been great at Protecting the Ball with the RB's only fumbling once this year.The O _line has given up only 16 Sacks but should have it's hands full blocking Stud Pass Rusher George Selvie... RB Curtis Steele better have a Great game after 5.7 YPC this season..
Not sure USF will be up for this one although they should be playing in front of alot of Family and Friends ..

Game Looks Like a Fantastic Matchup ...
Arizona Offense has put up some very good numbers this year
37  PPG, Willie Tuitama 21 TD's 8 Ints,
 Nic Grigsby 1066,(5.5) ..
Superstar TE Rob Gronkowski 43-645-10TD while Mike Thomas had 70 Catches.. A Closer look at the Wildcats has me thinking Sonny Dykes Offense is a little Overrated ... Taking out the Stats from easy wins Idaho,Toledo,Washington,WSU...
 The PAC 10 should be out for blood after they get sick of hearing how the MWC owned them this year... 
 
BYU will be Looking for it's 3rd 11 Win season in a row...
In the Preseason there was alot of Talk of BYU running the Table and Playing in a BCS Bowl...
 THE MWC proved to tough and TCU and UTAH were too good for the Cougars...Max Hall is an excellent QB and should make some nice Plays to SUperstar and future NFL WR Austin Collie (1,419 rec. yards)... 
 
Arizona should be Up for the Vegas Bowl after not making a Bowl Game for a long time... while it would not suprise me to see either team win the Wildcats should be more focused and could also be a nice Play on the Alt. Line
