Badlands -- regarding the BYU game, here's my thoughts and why people are pounding UCLA:

Have to take UCLA +8 here. This is a total homer pick for me since I'm an alumni there, but there is also some logic behind it. I backed UCLA two weeks ago against Tennessee at home BIG and won both with the points and on the moneyline (loved it). UCLA has a ton of injuries, but BYU didn't exact scare the pants off of me when they played Washington.

These two teams do not like each other, and I guarantee that Max Hall saying BYU "should beat UCLA" will be some good locker room material for Walker to motivate his defense.

DeWayne Walker is one of the best defensive coordinators in the country. Norm Chow is one of the best offensive coordinators in the country. Everyone knows that Rick Neuheisel can win football games. I think that the Bruins have, objectively, the best cocahing staff in the country.

They have had 2 weeks to prepare for this game on the road with Kevin Craft. Give this coaching staff two weeks to gameplan, and I think they can win this or keep it within a TD, especially considering the big win last week. They are going to want to show the world they are for real, and the best way to do that is to open your season by beating two ranked teams.

Hey maineroad....thanks for all the info you gave about the uva trip.Charlottesville is a great town and usc rolled.We sat in front of rodney peete and a bunch of older usc football players in the usc section 113..

did you jump on Baylor +2?  I hit it hard, and the line is now like Baylor -2.5  I might take the WSU ML at some point and middle this thing.

UConn -UVA I just cant get a vibe on. Is UVa that bad?; UConn is decent, but layin dd's???  Arkansas is steady fade material, but Texas is mediocre (at best) when comparing against Horns own history. I was actually leanin Carolina small tonite (but admittedly due to line movement) I couldnt find a decent edge on either side.

I'm glad to hear you had a good time.  I wasn't too far away from you, over in 106.  I didn't stay too long, though, as it was just too damn hot, and my son wasn't holding up too well.  Spent the second quarter pretty much under the stands getting him ice cream, and then spent the third quarter upstairs with my old fraternity pals and a bunch of bourbon.  Was back at the tailgate before the end of the third.  Wish I had gotten to meet more USC folks, but the ones I met were great.  I want to get one of those 'SC Hawaian shirts.  GL the rest of the year.  I hate Ohio State, so feel free to send those fools home unhappy on Saturday.

MICHIGAN/NOTRE DAME UNDER 36
 
michigan shutout notre dame last year and after watching the irish last week i dont think a whole lot has changed as of right now on offense for them. michigan still has their defense which has given up 9 points in the last 6 quarters after a slow start against a very good offense in utah.   ill be generous and say notre dame gets 16 at home this year.  michigan has no clue whats going on out there on offense, 16 points at home against miami ohio says it all.   michigan 13-3 under last 16 in september and notre dame 11-3 under last 14 overall.  notre dame 16 michigan 13
