I like Illinois, Iowa, and UConn. Will be on Iowa and UConn myself. Still watching the Illinois line. Hell, they may be favored by kickoff.
Good luck, Train!
Illinois wins this game by double digits. AZ St is very undisciplined and just had an emotional ot win vs a ranked opponent. Hard for kids to get back down to earth and play a road game vs a solid squad. Doubt the Illinois secondary gets torched like Mizzous....

Arizona St will have to have 8 turnovers for this to happen
the spot is terrible for ASU and I would love to fade them
the only thing is, Illinois is not a good football team and they will have trouble moving the ball with consistency, the Fighting Zooks don't have much bro

AZ St in horrible spot and undisciplined. The Zookers will get some hometown calls. Scheelhasse will have a good game......The Illinois secondary wont get torched and the Sun Devils running game is crap...
You'll see

not doubting you bro, I hope you win, I'm not betting the game because the line is all jacked up, I would love to fade the Sun Devils in this spot
but I'm not laying points with a shitty team, your Mizzou team would beat this Illinois team by 10+ points, the Illini have nothing bro, the only thing they got going for them is the spot
I wish you the best, if you want to lay points with a bad football team with an even worse coach then help yourself

You all see a big OT win in a nationally televised game, I see a team that blew a double digit lead late and was incredibly lucky to eek out a win against a lesser team as decent-sized favorites...
The cross-country travel isn't favorable for ASU, but taking the ending of that Mizzou game into consideration, I hardly see this as a scenario where ASU comes in overconfident or lacking focus - it's not nearly as bad a spot as most have made it out to be. Considering the Illini have the lesser QB, D, and coach, and have yet to be tested like ASU has, I just don't see how people are backing them without getting some points here.

Not arguing any of that. However, if winning picks were based soley on stats and better players/coaching, most people would be winning. I go with the gut sometimes. Sometimes I'm wrong. This may be one of those times.

I'll listen to advice from people I think have insight all day long. LOVE IT. You are correct that Illinois isnt very strong, but I think they are better than you are giving them credit for.
I am wrong all the time. My record is posted for all to see. I dont hide like some of the bitches on this site and whine about lines and vig and blah blah blah

Train that avatar is starting to freak me out a bit. Spooky
Anyway, looking at this LSU vs MISS ST contest for a sec
Last week I played Auburn as I knew they would respond to that close upset call and I am pretty sure they were looking forward to MISS ST next week. great value + 6 at home i might add
Same thing could be said for MISS ST even though the Auburn game was kind of big, this game is much bigger and I am thinking they were the ones looking ahead last week.
This game is not at night at LSU its at MISS ST and they are tough at home - i see the line at + 3.5 and I am pretty sure i will bite.
Thoughts?

Damn dude wish i could play 66 games in 2 weeks. Seriously jealous...
You can...you just seem to be too much of a (insert word here) to do so.
Shit, you can play 77 games in two weeks.
Seriously jealous, though? You sound like a jilted lover. You are seriously jealous of a complete stranger? Really man? What is your home life like? Is it the most unsatisfying thing in the world?
Train, you attract the weirdest fucking people. True weirdos.

You cant take the end of that Mizzou game out of consideration. They stormed the field. They stormed the fucking field, Linde.
They also open up conference play next week.
This team is also brand new to the favorite role. They are supposed to win their first 5 games this year. They are clearly the better team in each of them. They thrived last year in the underdog role. This is a completely different year and approach.
How do you hardly see this as a game where ASU could be lacking in focus? This team is lacking in focus in every game. Every. Game. They are supremely talented, but unfocused, poorly coached and undisciplined to boot.
Illinois has the lesser QB? Thats news to me.
Full Disclaimer - Huge ASU fan here. If you know me, I wouldnt shut up about them last year.

nice call on NMSU last week; I guess USC is just horrible; gl this week interesting angle on Akr State; VTech offense is horrible but that defense is the best in college football; I know they just played ECU but if they can shut down ECU at ECU then Ark State shouldn't be able to pass the 50; I can't seriously see Ark State scoring in the game at VTECH but who knows. The line is 24 so if you had it at 26 the money may be on Ark State but a scary team to back. GL this week.

When I reference the ending of the game, I speak more of the manner in which they almost gave it away - not how they celebrated when they pulled it out.
You speak as if ASU is a top 10 team who is expected to steamroll every team they play in these first five weeks. Is Illinois not the slight favorite at this point? Isn't Illinois the one who made a bowl appearance while the Sun Devils sat at home last December? If you're trying to sell to me that ASU views the Illini as completely inferior and, therefore, may look past this game, I just can't really buy it.
We'll just have to agree to disagree on Scheelhaase and Osweiler - I know Brock hasn't played in as many games, but to me, he has been very impressive since taking over late last season.

You always have the opinion of such a small mindset of people that you blanket apply to everyone. How many people have you read on here complaining about how ASU almost gave that game away last week? Maybe one, if you count yourself.
ASU is expected to steamroll every team they play the first five weeks. You are really reaching with referencing Illy in a bowl game and ASU sitting home, last year. This is not last year. Teams come with new expectations every year. Its how the average person comes up with a perception of a team. I am not trying to sell you that ASU thinks Illy is inferior. I am not trying to sell you anything. I just think its laughable that you dont think ASU could be lacking in focus. They are lacking in focus every single game they play. Its a constant. You, for some weird reason, think we will see a focused team on Saturday. Its been years. I will pay them if they finally come out focused for 60. This team is horribly coached and horribly undisciplined. You sound like you are talking about another team when you say they will be focused. Their MO is to not be.
And shit, I saw every Sun Devil game last year. I know Brock has improved. But to put him over Scheelhaase? Ehhhh, I dont really think so. Not at this day and time.
Agree to disagree.
But the Sun Devils focused? Shit, if they were a focused team they wouldve knocked off Wis last year. They wouldve buried Mizzou this year.

I made no mention of everyone talking about how they almost gave that game away - I'm simply stating that was the case. Blowing a 14-point 4Q lead at home and needing a missed FG to send the game into OT qualifies as nearly giving a game away. I don't see how you can disagree with that assessment.
My only play is on ASU +8.5 in a teaser, not even sure why I'm still on this...
Sorry for the thread hijack train

No worries Linde, its good football talk with no bashing, just 2 viewpoints. Its what this site needs actually.
