I see EMU is down to -3 now. I agree that we'll probably see improvement this week. Last week this line was -4' and no doubt has gone down because of how the Spartans played against USC's backups. Of course those backups are better than EMU's starting unit so there's that. I just think the short week and second straight road game will affect San Jose more than the Eagles who are playing back to back home games. If this line drops below three I might pull the trigger.

Looking at numbers, when i see 23.5 i get scared as a bettor of favorites, because i have lost a lot of money on said number, my logic used to be: oh the favorite is gonna cover because they are this big-name program. the game i am referring to is the USC vs Fresno st game.
Fresno always has a chip on their shoulder when it comes to this game
i do not trust the USC defense, and you need defense to cover this number, because it is important to smack a dog on its nose.
reading up on fresno st offense, looks the same as another state team that wants to beat USC.
with a 23.5 point spread, If the dog has any kind of bite and the favorite has any kind of weakness on defense, then stay away from the fav.

Yeah, I'm not sure there's an advantage of having a game under your belt. Fresno will have the advantage of film study from USC's win over San Jose, plus the Trojans are playing on a short week while the Bulldogs come in fresh.
Stanford falls into that same scenario with Miami this Friday. Not that I'm picking a side in either game but it will be interesting to see how these games play out.
Glad you hit on North Dakota St. That game was weird with over 70% of the bets on the Bison. Yet it was the BIG money on Jax St. that dropped the line from -10 to -6'. I was leaning NDSt. but the only thing I played was North Carolina. BOL this week. 
I don't think this game qualifies as a revenge type situation. The Cowboys are a completely new team with a new HC, new coordinators, new assistants and just three starters back. But don't let me talk you out of it if you like it. I'm leaning the other way but I don't like the line move down to -13'.
Love your writeups. I saw what you said about having a game under the belt may be overrated, but it seems I have also heard/read that many teams have their most improvement between games 1 and 2. I wonder if that will be a factor in SMU v Fla State since it will be the Seminoles second game, but SMU's opener, with the game in Tallahassee.

I'm not playing the game myself but I'm not too optimistic. QB Maddux Madson is only 5'10" and gets a lot of passes batted down when he's in the pocket. Oregon's D linemen are all at least 6'3", and four of our O linemen are 6'3" or taller. That's why Madsen has to roll out so much. Hard to find passing lanes through the trees. If Dylan Riley and Sire Gaines can get the run game going consistently maybe we can hang, but our defense has to ball out. I'll actually be at the game. A bunch of us are leaving Boise Friday morning. BOL if you play it but I'll be rooting against ya brother!
I don't know what to what to make of the Seminoles. Norvell is on shaky ground and they didn't look good last week against New Mexico St. and I'm sold on Mustangs HC Rhett Lashlee. But I've gotta see 'em play this year before I do any investing. BOL
