Hey Boom...long time reader, first time at posting. Always looked forward to your ten things we learned...I read your post before I read or watch any sports annalysis. Appreciate all the insight that you bring. Hope you continue your write ups and picks. Stay cool and prosper in all things...

I really cant explain how overwhelmed I am over the response that you guys have made. I really am humbled, I mean that. All the kind words you guys have posted in here and by PM I truly say thank you.
With that said. I am gonna take the rest of the week and weekend off to kind of clear my head and refocus. I will be coming back Sunday morning with a renewed outlook and yes, posting as normal..... only one catch tho. I will still post plays, but no unit size, just sides and totals. I also need you guys to hold me accountable to not respond to the negativity and hate that has consumed OUR forum. I love what I do and I love this sport, and nothing can or will ever change that.

hey boom its good to take a step back and breath. some times when ur not so involved u start 2 see more clear. by now the frauds have been exposed and we are ready to start running down hill. ive ran with u for most of the year and have been at 75% on all the games ive posted on ur forums. i called that under last friday even though c.mich laid down. it just seems to be a lock on the unders on fridays. keep doin what ur doin and lets go gambling!!!!!

2. I know not every person on the planet watches every game possible like me, but did you guys watch the Navy C. Michigan game Friday? Before I say what im about to say, I want all you guys to understand this one thing. I'm not a conspiracy theorist. I haven't ever nor do I really ever entertain the idea. But this year!! This year right here!! I'm starting to raise the flag a little. Any " football " person who watched that game Friday can tell you what Im about to tell you. C. Michigan had no interest in winning that game. None and proof will prove my point. These guys were taking the play clock down to 1 second late in the third and early in the fourth quarter down 3 scores I might add!! With no interest at all in trying to move the ball. Down 3 scores and you running a stretch play? Any sane person who watched that game will understand what I'm saying. It sure as hell looked like a team on the take to me. If you dont believe that, explain it. Give me a good football reason to why they were doing the things they were doing in that game.
Do you really know football like you say you do? I watched the game as well. I knew exactly what CMU was doing. Navy was averaging close to 6 minutes per drive. They were punching in well over 10 plays-per-drive. They needed to slow the game down- which is what anybody will tell you to do against the triple option/wishbone look winning or losing. CMU's defense is an atrocity. They knew they were not going to stop Navy offensively, seeing that they did not do it all game long. Then, 3rd quarter starts, CMU drives length of the field only to get 3 points out of it. Then Navy comes back and scores. At that point your only choice is to slow down the ball. Your playing prevent ball at that point. When you know you're outmatched there is not much else to do but to slow down the game. There was no such conspiracy in that game except that CMU's defense is garbage, play-calling was silly and Navy was too damn fast.

I guess you could possibly be correct? I guess? I guess my retort would be: If you know you can't stop them defensively, wouldn't you want to try and maximize your offense plays and save as much time as possible?
Basically what your saying is: CMU was trying to make 10 to 13 play drives, kill time knowing their defense can't stop them? So let's say they take the entire 3rd quarter to score. Then they give the ball back to Navy, and then Navy takes much of the 4th quarter and to score.. now you are back on offense and you have no time left in the fourth quarter to mount a comeback..
I guess my point is; If you don't think your defense is very good, and you don't think you can stop them, at least give yourseself the best chance to win. And the best chance to win is to hurry up & score, and then try and get a stop. If you get a stop, and you get another quick score, you get the crowd involved, the kids involved and confidence involved. If you don't get that stop, at least you scored quickly on offense to try another quick score. In your case; if they "slow the game down" by the time the ever get the ball back, it would be too late...

I wanted to congratulate u on getting LSU right last week over SC.
Sorry it's been 5 days but I do work, have a wife and son and a mortgage. I am not running from a loss. I agree with u about that game not being as close as the score indicated.
LSU deserved to win by a larger margin, And I also agree that Spurrier made a mistake going for that 4th 16. I would like to point out that our fg kicker is relatively untested esp on the road and as I remember it I think that kick after the sack was about a 30 to 35 yard fg not a give me in that environment. So I don't agree with the call but It isn't the most egregious call I have ever seen. Personally I would have saved the timeout and went for the FG try and hopefully after a made fg kicked it deep. It's all speculation at this point because its all history now. I understand ur frustration because I have lost money on situations similar to this instance.
However I do agree with another poster that stated it was not really the right thing to do in the GaTech@Clemson game where Clemson runs any play other than kneel down inside of a minute and a half up by 9.
Just my thoughts.
BTW I do think SC loses this week probably by a larger margin than the number.
