Mallet just dropped a few spots in the draft.......

I do no think he hurt his draft status at all today. They will just take a look at his sideline passes and fall in love with his big arm. Not many QBs can make that throw. His oline/WR let him down today and I thought it was pretty clear this loss wasn't on him. Gabbert will get picked before Mallett but he certainly isn't better. Have you guys seen how Gabbert looks when hes being blitz?

 I agree with your assessment.........he reminds me of Derek Anderson. He has a lot of ability, & I doubt he'll fall out of the 1st round, but the lack of good foot work & quickness will be a hindrance.

 As I tried to state in my OP, I'm not putting this loss on him...........no way. In fact, if his receivers catch even half the passes they dropped (& they recover the early fumble that went for a td), Arky could've won & he could be the mvp.  He has the arm & pretty good accuracy when he has the time to set..........but the throws under pressure were all over the place. This is only the 3rd time I've seen him play this year but I noticed some of this in the other games.
 I saw Gabbert live last Tues. night & the only thing I can see him having over Mallett is some ability to extend a play................but the P6 at the end was a killer.

 Let's face it..........Luck is the only qb in the upcoming draft that could play immediately, & I'm sure he'd struggle some if he was thrown to the wolves.

good thing for most of you boys....you don't have to know football (necessarily)...to pick winners
or read....but both help

Mallett looked terrible...his receivers were worse yes

Reference by the Muggster was how this will translate to the NFL .......> very poorly

main problem is how much he is bothered by pressure.....recall 2H of Bama game too
the great ones still get it done.....they feel the pressure and can move around...keeping their eyes downfield....and don't lose quite as much effectiveness  when throwing on the run...problem is "feel" is tough to teach....
    * Mallett wasn't helped ....by playing the night after Andrew Luck ....who showed us how IT...is supposed to be done.....every thing Mallett did wrong ....Luck did right

* and yes I'm aware he was under great pressure...how he dealt with the pressure.....is what we are talking about

No I am not kidding you...dont let losing money with Arkansas cloud your judgment. Kid makes EVERY NFL throw imaginable. Give him a Oline that pass blocks and WRs that dont drop the ball and he will be successful. Mallet is the second QB drafted

Gabbert will not get drafted before Mallet
- he will have to learn to take snaps from Center
- he played in a gimmick offense (i.e. TT)
- he won NO BIG GAMES at Missouri
- he doesnt have Mallet's arm strength or deep ball accuracy

imo, both qb's, gabbert and mallett should be around 4th or 5th rounder at best.  both will be career backup qb's.
