Looks like Memphis first year head coach Larry Porter is making a lot of personnel changes for the ECU game.  Stripping redshirts, inserting 3 true freshman into the starting or two deep secondary (Nixon, Ballentine, Washington).

memphis did look horrible,,ECU 13 - 1 ATS L14 with the tigers is not a trend that piss's me off either--GO PIRATES

Lu are you worried at all about East Carolina looking past Memphis because they play Virginia Tech the following week?

Absolutely.  I don't believe anyone who went to school at East Carolina and calls themselves a Pirate can rightfully be at peace with themselves if they're not giving back to the University.  The school was founded for the people of the East.  It's mission is To Serve.  As such, the alumni population have a duty to give back to the school.  Plus it feels good.

Well Lu, I wanted to pull the trigger on the Pirates last week after reading your write-up but couldn't get through to my local in time(somtimes that whole working Sat's thing sucks).

I'm on it this week though as I'm a firm believer in your dedication and work when it comes to ECU. I love Cover's but it's rare imo to find the solid cappers sometimes. I lurked last year, but posting a lot more this season and throwing in my two cents here and there.

I am by no means an expert capper, but consider myself average. BOL to everyone this season, let's rake in the

All I know is Memphis is terrible and especially so on the road.

Sagarin ratings came out today for week #2.  ECU should win this game by more than 3 TDs. 

I will be looking at Massey's ratings next and devising a program based on that data.  If anyone has any suggestions on how to best use Massey's data, let me know and I'll get something coded up!

I was at the MSU/Memphis game and personally witnessed how atrocious the Tigers really are. Believe me if mississippi state can drop 49 points (and could have scored 63-70 easily) ECU can name their number on offense. It will take a miracle for Memphis to cover the number

ECU's coaches won't take their foot off the accelerator the way MSU's did.  We've seen what they do to schools who can't stop them on offense.  We've seen it at Texas Tech.  These guys flat out light up the scoreboard.  

Memphis burning 3 redshirts for this weeks game to insert true freshman into the secondary is not good for the Tigers.  ECU also gets back 4 players who were slated as starters before the season back for this game.  Actually, 5...but one wasn't named a clear starter.  

Guys don't forget that Memphis' defense is every bit as bad as Tulsa's.  Problem for Memphis is that their offense is non-existant.  They literally have nothing.  Zilch.  

ECU is bolstering it's defense for this weeks home conference game, adding 4-5 starters back into the lineup in the front 7 who missed the Tulsa game.  Not only that, but you could see the Pirate offense find its rhythm in the second half of that football game.  Confidence is sky high for the offense and the defense is going to come out with something to prove.  

This is a terrible spot for Memphis, on the road, sold-out hostile environment yet again.  This could be a demoralizing game by the end of the 1st quarter for the Tigers, at which point it could get very ugly.
