Moving on, we have a game on Saturday and a few things jump out to me right away so I'm going to pull the trigger right now.
Massive momentum coming out of that game on Saturday. The Pirates are playing with the swagger we'd all expect out of a back to back conference championship team.
Dom Davis, the Pirate starting QB, has an ugly ass throwing motion but I'll be damned if it's not effective. He connected for over 380 yards through the air, 5 td's and one pick. It sounds like his receivers trust him and are rallying behind him.
Memphis got crushed by Miss. State last Saturday. Vegas wants you to believe one of two things:
1) Mississippi State's offense is every bit as potent as ECU's Air Raid (someone else might see this as an opportunity to fade the Bulldogs this week

)
OR
2) The real Memphis did not stand up stand up in Starksville.
Wrong on both accounts. Mississippi State's offense is garbage. Memphis was Memphis. Both play to our advantage this week.
Better act now:
ECU played against the high-flying Tulsa offense that many considered to be one of the best in the Country. Several publications had Tulsa as a top 25, 10-win team by the end of the regular season this year. I still think they might be. There aren't going to be too many teams that can outscore those guys. Again, this gives us an advantage.
While ECU's defense isn't the iron curtain, it's also not as swiss cheesed up as it appeared on Saturday. That offense for Tulsa returned three 1,000+ yard receivers and an experienced QB in G.J. Kinne. I expected them to put up points and stated as much. They did what I thought they'd do and put up 49 in Greenville.
Don't get it twisted, ECU's defense isn't as bad as one might think.
The Pirates were missing 4 starting defensive players on Saturday. They all have significant game experience and missed week 1 due to injury. They all play in the Pirate front 7. They are Antonio Allison, Steven Booth, Steve Spence, and Michael Brooks. These guys will be back to bolster the Pirate defense on Saturday. This is a key point and will provide depth up front this week against Memphis.
The Pirates found their rythm on offense in the 2nd half of that football game on Saturday and I expect them to hit the ground running in week 2 with insane momentum.
Memphis can't find their own ass. The Tigers gave up most of the points on Saturday to the back up QB from Mississippi State. Their defense and offense are both brutal.
I see that this is getting to be a little too long for most to read, so let me make this simple. Pirates giving the -11.5 is a flat out gift to ECU backers. The line is off by 10 points, easily and I expect it to move accordingly.
ECU -11.5
Raking first 3 games of the year.

Great work on the E Carolina games. Question: If Miss St shows up & beats Auburn Thursday night, what would you think about Miss St's offense then & would it affect this play? Im sure it wouldnt but just a thought.
