The story also said the Mississippi State compliance office turned the information over the SEC last January. Eleven months later Newton is still eligible. Last week SEC associate commissioner Greg Sankey said the league received “specific information” on Newton in July (not January). He later said, “We don’t deal in rumor and innuendo. We deal in facts.”

Dude, are you totally fucking retarded?  He didn't admit SHIT in public about the money being too much... that is STILL heresay.  WHO the fuck "verified" any of that?  I haven't seen anything "verifing" shit... just a bunch of accusations with no documented proof yet.  You apparently know NOTHING about law or anything involving investigations... someone saying something doesn't matter... proof does.  There is nothing documented other than some assholse CLAIM Cecil Newton said that... no proof.  Now do I think he did it??  Absolutely, where there is smoke there is usually fire, but you need to break out a dictionary and learn the meaning of "verified" and "documented" facts.

I didn't say they didn't, do you expect them to play them for the public  as the way to make it true?

God you people are too much. I hope if you ever get charged with any criminal activity that you get sent to jail for at least 5 years based on hearsay and rumors without any proof whatsoever.

No of course not, that would be too professional to actually provide proof rather than continuing to spread rumors...

Well if it does then I will admit that he's trash. The question is, if he is innocent, will all you people who have been doing nothing but talking shit with no proof admit that he deserves his Heisman and that Auburn deserves their wins? I'll be watching to see.

And if it is true it is still unprofessional of them to act the way they are rather than releasing it up front. Even you have to see that.

I dont think CAM NEWTON is better than anyone. I am saying their pay for play situations are very very similar and if ANYONE thinks that Cam Newton will win the Heisman than you are smoking crack. The ballots are due within 3 weeks and with all of this stuff surrounding him; he is FINISHED. Do you think the Heisman voters want to look like fools again??? Are they going to vote for someone who broke the rules. DONT THINK SO

Last I check, he help the Saints win a superbowl.  Not to mention the best catching back in the league

Its probably getting close to Al Sharp's & Jessie Jackson's time to show up and have a march in, Auburn for Cam Newton.

not since the allegation from multiple sources yesterday that Newton would be suspended

While it might make for good new material for ESPN and others to drive into the ground, asking a school such as MIss St for money is not an NCAA violation, so unless Auburn or rep gave the family money there's no news here other than ESPN hype. Phone conversations asking for money or other school recruiters (with a vested interest in seeing another school accused and face potential problems) making claims they lost out due to money are not a violation, only the actual transfer of money. The NCAA requested financial statements from the father and church a month ago to see any money was involved, should be easy enough to do and the only thing that matters. Meanwhile Cecil drives around in his old caddy and Newton rides around on a motor scooter, so maybe the church got rich or maybe not. OU Stoops recruited Newton out of JC and his people said they encountered nothing unusual, again meaningless however some indication they got left out of the supposed bidding war.

The problem is that, much like steroids, it's happened enough that many people's mindset is to assume the worst and presume guilt until cleared (even though some good players named passed tests years ago, some did not). Even if he is cleared, there will still be some who will claim that it was all true and the investigation was rigged.

Of course allegations are never false such as the allegations about two week story about AJ Green being in Miami or having contact with agents (alleged trip had nothing to do with selling game jersey on e-bay)

Green also is linked to the NCAA's ongoing investigation into alleged improper contact with agents by players at Alabama, North Carolina and South Carolina. But a person familiar with the investigation told ESPN.com's Mark Schlabach that Green has adamantly denied attending the agent-sponsored party in Miami or ever traveling to South Florida.
