Team total as it sits now would be like 11.5.  Cant take it that low.
Jimmy,  I like that "betting justice" was served.

kinda wonder at florida's mental state after getting run over by cook. can the D handle that punishment 2 weeks in a row especially if the Offense goes belly up again? Bama O line better than FSU. get a couple scores down and quit?

Great write up on San Diego defending against Air Force Jimmy. San Diego allowed only 95 yards rushing per game this year, that places them 4th in the nation. With their Huge O-line and the way they steamrolled through the conference this year I like them at -4. They have an inexperienced QB now but that is why the line is where it is.  .

San Diego State is probably my favorite play of the week despite the QB situation.  If Christian Chapman can turn and hand the ball off, the Aztecs should be golden.

I used to think parlays were for suckers, too much juice. But I am playing a parlay of Alabama moneyline and San Diego St -4. Bama may not cover the spread but they are not losing to Florida. Instead of risking 105 to make 100 I am risking 100 to make 112. Late in the season when the lines are dead on and outcomes are far more predictable I make very few bets per week and parlay them with almost certain to win moneyline bets. My bankroll has grown considerably since I started this strategy.

No play at -4.5? Hate to be that guy but in your earlier post I saw you had them at closer to -3.

    Adding:

Bowling Green -12 vs. Northern Illinois

I love Bowling Green here.  I think this one has the potential to get ugly.

NIU grad and NIU fan. We are screwed. We have lost three QB's to injury and are now down to a walk on freshman at this key position. Bowling Green will win this game, but I like the under 69.5 more than I like Bowling Green -12. NIU is well coached and their defense has played really well in their four biggest games, Ohio ST, Toledo, Western Michigan, and Boston College. NIU will do their best to control time of possession, trying to limit the number of possessions Bowling Green has. Emotion is a very important factor in college football and I am predicting NIU comes out and plays very pissed after they blew that game last week against an inferior Ohio team.

I am leaning Bowling Green -12, I just like the under a bit more.

I use to use this strategy frequently in college basketball, but oddsmakers have gotten wise to it and don't offer ML wagers on games with fat lines anymore.  I'm not sure where you're betting, but I don't see an Alabama ML available anywhere.

That said, your post does raise an interesting point.  Most people look at betting the dog in a ML wager.  The strategy you speak of shows how to profit from betting the heavy favorite.

    Excellent post!!!

I was also eyeing the UNDER in this game.  I honestly don't see how this gets any near 70 points.  The total really doesn't seem to reflect Northern Illinois's QB conundrum.

Thanks again for sharing your thoughts.

5dimes has money lines they are pretty damned stiff for a 16 point favorite like Alabama. They were 850 but are now 900. Risking 100 to win a measly 11 bucks isn't very tasty, nobody ever said the books are stupid. I took the parlay of San diego St -4 and Alabama 850 ML earlier in the week and i am glad i did, the lines moved against me since i made my bet. It is risky, you have to pick your spots but Bama is not losing to this Florida team 12% of the time, so over the long term i increase my bankroll.

Just a heads up Jimmy because I like you. Weeks 5 through 13 if you bet on an away favorite money line that is -220 or larger you win long term even including the books take. Superior teams may not cover the spread on the road but damned if they don't win enough to make this a long term winning proposition. This isn't just my opinion, I data mined every NCAA game going back four years and confirmed it.  I was skeptical, why shouldn't i be, everybody has a betting system and they all suck, but my bankroll has grown considerably.  The data is easily available at SBR forum.

Go across the street to SBR, they have all the data, confirm it for yourself. It's gambling we don't trust anybody but our own judgment , and even then after years of trial and error

Interesting.  Like I said, I do understand the concept, but have never actually researched the numbers.  For example, I currently have the following 5-team parlay pending:

NCAA Basketball - Kentucky ML @ UCLA

NCAA Basketball - USC ML @ UC-Santa Barbara

NCAA Football - San Diego State ML vs. Air Force

NCAA Football - Bowling Green -12 vs. Northern Illinois

    NCAA Football - NUI/BG UNDER 35 (1st Half)

I data mined college bball too. Away favorites between -190 and -340 pay an 8% profit during conference play. It takes a while to let the teams settle down and prove what they are really like. Plus teams get used to playing on the road and in conference refs have to be fair or they lose their jobs. So I don't bet much college bball money line until after January 1st when inter conference play starts. BUT you always cap games from knowledge as well. Throw out games you don't like.

There are good cappers that can make money ATS on college bball before conference play starts and then when conference season starts they lose or break even. This system works on money line bets, strictly after there are enough games played to establish predictability.

don't believe me, research, do the data mining home work.
