    I would think SMU covers.........BECAUSE

*Tulane has an aggressive / physical defensive front....that is capable of shutting down methodical / move the chains O's like Army.....UConn.....or even Navy.......

Here is Navy's rushing per carry average TY.....care to guess which game is Tulane?.....ND > 6.49.....SMU 6.2

    7.89
    5.53
    4.97
    5.29
    6.49
    2.46
    6.20
    5.67
    6.20

BUT....Ponies ain't NAVY.....and should be able to stretch the field here....and simply outscore Tulane.....who has one of the nation's worst O's.....and maybe worst OL (#128 FEI efficiency)
*SMU D is not THAT much worse than Tulane....while O is MUCH better....ST are really bad for both....Tulane's slightly worse

*NOTE:  Tulane does have the #1 rush D in AAC....3.3/rush...138/g....and #1 in TFL as well......so should cause SMU OL some problems....> UNDER a consideration........

Most importantly.....SMU needs this one MUCH more...
*their LAST home game......with a terribly disinterested fan base.....even weaker recruiting base....Jones decided to NOT recruit DFW area wtf..........no way they can afford to lose this one
*Tulane at 3-7 with a home game vs Tulsa next....SMU at Memphis......should be colder here (for us) ....low 40's maybe....slight to zero crowd edge for SMU

REASON to not get too excited?
     *Ponies the last 5 games a TURNOVER machine....losing the ball 13X / forcing 2 .....24 fumbles rank #124
*Wave playing with some (false maybe) confidence.....covering their last 4....Ponies covered 1/7 games...........

Gotta love posters like this who chime in and don't read (or understand) the finer points of the thread.

Then when SMU hits, they disappear like a moose fart in the wind.

I ALREADY addressed the the Navy game that so many found so impressive (isn't it amazing how a 31-17 Tulane loss can be praised like this???).

Tulane was one of the only teams in the nation to play not one, not two, but THREE triple option teams this year, each one setting the blueprint for the next on film and on the field. And we already know Tulane has a DL that is decent (their one and ONLY postive).

So what happened in their first triple option game? They were obliterated by Georgia Tech 65-10 (some DL huh?).

Then they lose 31-17 then get by army at the gun as army fumbles 5 times, completely botches a punt and allows an INt for points.

You are overvaluing the Navy game and performance instead of taking it in the grander context of how Tulane has performed all year which is abominable! That is why this line is 3 folks, mock wise guys like this who think they have the inside track on the numbers.

But listen guys, the ponies ain't navy! What a revelation!

Love the play but insults of BA are wide of the mark. He brought some analysis to the thread and is generally $$$$. Don't be so quick to belittle what was genuine material, or at least address the material only

Play the ball not the man!

Lol really with the attack on Bookie ? God forbid someone provide more insight into a game ? How dare he... He said SMU should cover and gave further reasoning ? Warned turnovers are an issue with SMU... Relax over there and understand there is other views... You keep stating how terrible they are and don't seem to understand that people on Tulane could say the same thing about SMU... they are 1-9 afterall

The only reason I'm making this play is because it sets up well in both line and motivation in that SMU is 1-9...Is that terrible? of course. Tulane has 3x more wins and I am more than willing to degrade those wins.

Scal! Huge fan. Just a totally off-topic question. You use 5dimes?
I've been with them a while and was curious to what bonus/rewards plan you use as i recently noticed they offer quite a few. Just wanted to pick your brain. If not, totally irrelevant post.

    Thanks!

    Pseudo-intellectual LOL

Been posting here for 8 years all with detailed write-ups. Don't pick these games out of a hat kid. This pick was a entire season in the making. I'll guarantee you haven't seen even a quarter of Tulane football. I've seen all their games except against Maine which wasn't televised in my area. Also have seen SMU a bunch and they hung tough with Baylor and TCU for 3.5 quarters. This Tulane team couldn't do that in ten billion lifetimes and I would make the over under in such a game 73...and still be afraid the over would hit even if Tulane was shut out.

Does watching all their games matter? Oh yes. I know the ins and outs of Tulane far better than you and have been waiting for a light line against a home team that can score and is hungry. Plus I get Tulane off what they treated like their Super Bowl and an extra long losing streak against a program that wants to fast track it's rebuild. Can't say you are rebuilding of you lose against this Tulane team. Was absolutely delighted this wasn't a 4/4.5 or spread and jumped on it quicker flies on shi*.

Anyhow take the 'team with the most black guys'...

Hey, I'm not a big fan of bonuses. I can't tell you how many I chased, searching for action night after night and burned my roll just to obtain a bonus that in the long run mattered very little.

You go to 5 dimes for the betting options.

They release the earliest lines I've ever seen. CFB games are up by 5pm on Sunday. Virtually the entire slate.

Nba games are up sometimes before the current game ends.

Compare this to Bovada which will wait till two hours before tip sometimes to post an NBA line! What a joke!

Then you have reduced juice. Just the fact they would offer such a thing is absolutely stunning in such a lowlife industry.

Then you have progressive teasers and progressive parlays with literally 50 options for each. That is just...it takes my breath away.

Cashed out (minimum is 1k) and they sent a check in 5 days.

Best betting site on the web I've ever seen, hands down.

Sometimes I wonder if posters are drunk or just, not all there in more ways than one.

The guy comes in the thread and tries to cap the game in one disjoint largely incoherent post (and dually throw cold water on an actual cap of the game) and he's never even seen the team play. I pretty much guarantee it. And that matters because Tulane's stats on paper are not comparable to the actual product on the field (which qualifies as on of the worst teams in CFB...and SMU is not worse). Calling him out on it is like...an 8 year old??? Even your insults make no sense. Enough of trying to decipher your ramblings.

Just wanted to add two extra tidbits to this thread:

Who has the worst net punt yardage in the nation?

    Tulane.

SMU will be blessed with good field position on punts, and given Tanner Lee only completes one of every two passes, and given the fact Tulane's run game is poor to very poor, they will be punting, even against this defense.

    2nd point:

    Tanner Lee's broken finger.

Tulane's head coach, Curtis Johnson noted this week that they weren't even going to start Lee last week with his finger issue. Why? Well he literally said, as the game goes on, in colder temperatures, the ball got harder and it was tougher for Lee to receive the snap and then throw.

The gameplan, he said was to score as much as possible in the first half due to this. They achieved this going up 28-14 in the first half. Results in The second half when the temp dropped and what Johnson speculated would hinder Lee? 6 pts on two late FG's no TD's and a bunch more incompletions.

So I checked the weather at Army at the start. 44 degrees

Believe it or not the game in Dallas against SMU according to weather underground will be 48 degrees at kickoff. It is a night game and remarkably (I didn't know Dallas got this cold at this time of year), it could drop to 40 degrees, the coldest day of the week. So for what it's worth, if Tulane doesn't jump out early, it will get colder hindering Tulane's only offensive threat.

Not the reason I'm putting my money on SMU but interesting nonetheless.

I agree, I have watched both Tulane and SMU a handful of times this season.  SMU has a really good QB.  Matt has over 2600 total yards, he can chuck it and run it.  North Texas is the equivalent of the caliber team Tulane is and SMU rolled them.  SMU looks terrible on paper with their record, but in actual terms of game play they look better coming from the eye test at least on the offensive side of the ball.

Eye test on offense . That's all we care about. We need points, we need a bunch and we will get them.

You've watched Tulane? Shame on you! Are you some kind of masochist????

SMU on the other hand had some thrilling runs late in the game against TCU and Baylor (both fully healthy at the time). They were around 35 pt dogs against Baylor and HEAVY dogs against TCU getting to be featured on the ESPN Upset Alert ticker for hours (and trust me, as trivial as this may seem, we'd colonize Mars before such a thing would happen to this Tulane team).

If the books understood this about Tulane and didn't get carried away with their three wins (which again, came against an FCS team only UCF couldn't beat and every FBS team could, UCF itself and you saw first hand last night what a completely inept team they are, and also Army, that treated the football like a greased swine, and Tulane still needed to go to 0:00 to beat them), they'd make this line tougher at 4/5/6. We get it at a push or win line of 3. I'll take that 1,000 out of a 1,000 times. Looking back I missed responding to some guys in this thread. Read all your comments. Appreciate them.

Oh and isn't the NBA wonderful? If you had the Clippers+6 last night you lead the entire game and by as much as 23 (29 with the spread added in), you lost at the gun.

Warriors shoot over 80% in the 4th and 73% from 3 to win by 7.

Glad I found college football and am not posting in the NBA forum. Nobody needs that kind of aggravation!

This threads great comedy. Honestly I can't bet on this SMU team, but I have a special hatred for teams that don't even try to play defense like Tulsa, SMU, and Texas Tech. I'll stick to betting a terrible Rutgers team vs Army, who could really care less about any game all year except Navy.

Warriors were 8/8 from 3 in the fourth , completely ridiculous lol
