I see alot of different opinions regarding the Kentucky/South Carolina game tommorrow, I figured I might share mine
I will begin by saying that Woodson deserves all of the hype that he is getting and he should be the leading candidate for the Heisman Trohpy to this point in the season, I really like Woodson
I have seen both teams play twice this season on TV, I saw Kentucky play against Arkansas and Louisville and I've watched South Carolina play LSU and Georgia
I have Kentucky ranked in my top 10 currently due to all these other teams losing games and them being undefeated, but I think South Carolina is a better football team
the Kentucky/Arkansas score is very misleading and if you watched the game then you know what I'm talking about, Arkansas had a 20-7 lead and they were driving to go up by more right before the half and then they fumbled and Kentucky returned the fumble like 68 yards or so for a touchdown, in that first half, Kentucky had one scoring drive of 7 points and had to punt on 5 of 7 posessions, they were not impressive at all, but they stole the momentum and regained life heading into the locker room, they came out and played a good 2nd half, but they could have easily lost the game if it weren't for Arkansas shooting themselves in the foot with costly turnovers, the final score of 42-29 is very misleading, it was a game that could have easily gone either way depending on a few bounces
the Kentucky/Louisville game was another game that Kentucky had to come back and win, both teams had very similar stats, but Kentucky won the most important battle (the turnover battle), the Cats didn't committ a turnover and the Ville had 2, even though this is a rivalry game I don't think Kentucky deserves that much credit for beating a very overrated Louisville team (the Cuse beat them at Papa John

), another game that Kentucky played that could have gone either way, but once again give them credit for picking up the win
the rest of their schedule was Eastern Kentucky, Kent State and Florida Atlantic in which they played @ Kentucky
so if you really look into their schedule they have played two decent teams that will both end up with 3 or 4 losses and they have lost both games, so why all they hype? have they really been that impressive?
South Carolina's one loss was @ LSU and every team in the country would probably lose that game except for maybe USC and that would be a big maybe, LSU is loaded they aren't messing around this season, I wouldn't expect Spurrier's troops to win in Baton Rouge, LSU is ranked #1 after all
I think the Gamecocks were a preseason top 15 team and they are currently a top 15 team despite a loss, they will be the best team that Kentucky has played and they will certainly be the best defense that Kentucky has played and Spurrier is the best coach that the Cats have faced
I would take South Carolina on a neutral field at a PK against Kentucky right now, why not take them at home - 4
home game, Thursday Night prime time television, Steve Spurrier favored by 4 points over a higher ranked but not as good opponent equals Large Money
Gamecocks - 4 for Large Money
Final Score: USC 30 UK 17
if you have a different opinion than I then feel free to share, that is why we are here, sometimes we will disagree but that is what the forum structure is all about
