There's no doubt I'm tossing this out.  If I'm wrong, fuck me...but this is a rare opportunity...if the line remains under 3 pts, you have to bust the ML at the very least. 

I'm throwing all the whispers of doubt (Auburn has a shit defense) out the window.  I love me some dual threat QB's...but this one is unreal.

There is a big difference between knowing every move your father makes and at least raising an eyebrow when he tells you what college you are going to play for as he is washing his brand new car.

Personally I don’t really care but if Cam Newton honestly had no idea his father was pimping him out then he has an IQ under 75.

Well put Straight Shooter...we haven't heard the last by a long shot of 'what Cam knew, and when did he know it...'

I like to have seen a player in person before evaluating & comparing.  The greatest CFB players I have ever seen, live, in football games, some multiple times are, Earl Campbell, Eric Dickerson, Josh Heupel, Bo Jackson, Peyton Manning, LaVar Arrington, Vince Young, and Reggie Bush.

Among those, hands down, without question, the best player: Reggie Bush.  Better than Earl; better than Bo. Unbelievable what he could do in a game and you have to see in person to fully appreciate....

how is Herschel Walker getting no mention here?  too old school?  if i'm not mistaken, the guy dominated for 4 full years...

funny AL was just reading my mind about Walker....beast played 3 seasons each season over 1500yds rushing including 1600+ as frosh (4 200 yd games) leading to national title and 1891 as soph, Jackson when healthy was dominating as well with 4300 over 3 healthy yrs

for single season Newton has no compare...passing numbers almost identical to Tebow however rushing for 1400+ (and not done yet) compared to max 900 for Tebow...who would you rather try and tackle...c'mon man

Bush rushing numbers for best season might be matched by Newton rushing alone and TDs 48 vs 18 (not done yet)...speaking of USC Marcus Allen 2342 rushing in 1981 (212 ypg) with similar receiving (30 rec)

defensively dominating players enjoyed watching.....Lawerence Taylor UNC 1980....16 sacks, not to mention havoc...10.8 ppg defense....Bruce Smith VT 1983 22 sacks

Cams right up there, but lets be honest, they are VERY lucky to be in the NC game. Could have easily lost to BAMA, Kentucky, Clemson and SC ( I know, woulda shoulda)......Tebow had the best CAREER ever and Vince Young did kick some major ass.....

Barry Sanders had a pretty good year for Ok St......

Herschel went [pro after his junior year, but he had 3 great years.

All time is a big statement.

Cam Netwon better than Jim Thorpe?  He led an Indian school to national prominence.

Was Cam's one year better than Barry Sander's year as a starter?

But I am a big Newton supporter and I would def rank him ahead of Tebow.   Tebow had a great defense behind him, and didn't need to score every posession like Cam seems to.

I m really disappointed in some of your responses as a group here. If we are talking GREATEST COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYER EVER then we have to talk about the BEST...... And When I mean best, I mean THE best ever to walk on a college field. This guy was the most dominating player that college football has ever seen... This guy is hands down better than the laughable responses like Vince Young and such. This guy is what the word unstoppable defines.

he had a great year, but lets be honest the SEC was not nearly as 
good as it has been. arkansas was pretty good, but HUGE drop offs for alabama and florida. Lsu was a train wreck waiting to happen, south carolina was as inconsistent as ever.Georgia and Tennessee sucked.

more is going to come out and the heisman will once again be shamed and auburn will forfeit a ton of games because cam was dirty...

but still one of the best players money can buy....

sometimes people forget FL won their 06 title with Leak starting QB .....much better supporting cast offense and defense compared to Newton, how would Leak do with Auburn cast...probably 6-5 or 7-4

Not a bad choice, but Frazier had some of the best supporting casts of all time.  I'd still go with Sanders (based on one year......comparing him to Cam)........Sanders' numbers in that one season will never be equalled.

i did mention bo jackson and herschel but i forgot barry sanders who is probably the best rb i've ever seen if you include college and pro.

of course, people tend to ignore defensive players but a guy like charles woodson completely dominated when he was in college.

barry sanders and vick in the new school days ...jim brown was a man among boys in the old school school days..he was a monster at syracuse,, and so was the tyler rose EARL CAMBEL...

Mike Vick is the best college football player i have ever seen hands down, he didnt have the offensive weapons that Tebow was blessed with. As an Auburn fan I am happy to say that Newton is probably top 10.
