Point shaving doesn't happen in college football. This is journalism for the low information types.

I don't believe Rome would give someone any time on his radio show unless he thought he was legitimate.

Why don't you listen tomorrow and judge for yourself...unless of course your not a LOW information kinda guy.

Nah. A qb and rb can make it tough for their team to win.....as can a corner that "keeps getting burned"....

I'm positive this stuff happens, just have no real idea of the extent.

So 1 person on a football team cant affect the outcome of the game? Doubt it. A QB up by 14 when the line is -13.5 can do a bunch of things to blow the cover. I think people need $ and that leads to nefarious acts. People who think fixing games dont exist are naiive.

I agree Train. I really don't understand why more people don't believe that this happens every weekend.

I think the refs have more control of the fixing with pick and choosing the penalty calls and such

It's really tough to do this college football. If a player is playing that poorly, he'll simply get benched. Plus, what if a QB gets a concussion and his backup does well?

There's so many variables that it's hard to imagine anyone would even bet that much even if the player was bribed.

Take a step further... a Center, a key DL, even a CB or WR can influence the outcome of the game!  Offensive Linemen can definitely do it, by allowing sacks or missing blocks...

Anyone who doesn't think there are fixes in CFB is naive...

With that being said, the key is to get in on the right side of the fix!!!

I think the teams with poor records are the ones you take a look at.  All of sutton a 5 touchdown under dog damn near wins the game... You throw games over a course of a season... Not just one game...

They usually say the team quit on the coach... You might say someone is fixing the game!

i dont care how good you are at capping, i dont care how many pages can you write about a game but one thing i am sure that not so many people here win more than 3 weeks straight. its gambling, today you win tomorrow you'll lose. I believe in luck more than skill. in some weeks, i thought i was God but then luck ran out. and this is the reason why you see some of our greatest cappers have disappeared for awhile :), one week they win everything but the weeks after you only go against them to make $.
Find a capper that win 1 or 2 weeks straight---go agasint him on his third or 4th week=
People don't bet more when they're winning but they double and triple their bets when they're losing = .  Know your weeks and gamble responsibly :) , bet less after 2 weeks of winning, bet less on sunday if you win on saturday, ...wait for your luck to rise again.
Vegas can't afford to pay NFL or NCCAF :)

UL-LAF did this guy cite any examples on Rome's show?  It would be interesting to go back and watch a game or 2 that he said was fixed.

Another question, has anybody on here ever talked to a former player that admits to doing this or even one of their teammates?

I remember back in the 90's Hedake Smith (guard on Ariz. St. basketball team) got busted for point shaving.  So we know that it does happen.  I have never heard of a case in college football though.

Sometimes the players know they will never make the pros so they wait till a game comes around to make money..

Bryant Moniz (UH Quarterback) went into unlv as double digit favorites came out with a straight up loss..
Reports seen him leaving a casino....
Reports say his uncle was a bookie...
After he graduated he was seen driving around in an escalade..
This was a kid that was a walk on had no scholarship and was still delivering pizza while being on the UH roster..
ML on that game was +1900
