Freak Pics!!! (Week 1)

Saban has not announced a QB rotation for the Kent State game.  The only think Saban has said is the QBs will play the portion of the game that they have designated for them to play.  In other words, if McCarron is schedule to play the 1st quater, he will play that quarter regardless of performance.

McCarron and Sims are both a significant talent upgrade at the QB position and, according to Saban, they have played to a virtual draw this spring and fall.  From what I've seen Sims is clearly more talented with a lot more upside.  To put it another way, I don't think there is anything McCarron does anything better than Sims.  If I were making the call, Sims would be the starter.

Having said that, Saban did not play his best QB in his 2nd and 4th season.  He played the most experienced QB, and I think that's what he'll do again.  For that reason I think McCarron will eventually be the starter.

In the end I think Bama will win the national championship regardless of which QB Saban chooses.  Both are quite capable.

Sims is a redshirt freshman, not a true freshman.  If I were making the decision, that's exactly what I would do.

I think both QBs will play against Penn State.

Going to add two more to my official play list, and 1 to my "like" list.

I said I would play Miami of Ohio if the line hit 21.  Well, it did.

I've always like Bama for the game, so I'll buy the hook and add it as an official play.  Just don't see Kent State scoring here.  My predicted final score is 52-0.

Kent State @ Alabama -37.5 (Hook)

I will also add the Zips to my "like" list.

Akron +34 @ Ohio State (Will play if it hits 35)

Bookmaker still doesn't have any team totals up for tomorrow. 

I'm sure most have already heard the Boise's three players from Amsterdam, Netherlands will not play against Georgia over oncerns about their eligibility.  The three players are starting SS Cedric Febis, DT Ricky Tjong-A-Tjoe and WR Geraldo Boldewijn (aka Geraldo Hiwat).

I liked the Dawgs before the suspensions, so obviously I still like them after the suspensions.

I lean Northwestern also, but QB Dan Persa is a game time decision.  Even if he plays I don't think he'll be much of a threat to run.  Too much of a crap shoot for me to get involved.

What are your feelings on Fresno/Cal.  I know Cal was a beast at home last season, but I kind of lean Fresno.  What are your thoughts on the game?  Are you playing it?
