You're exactly right. And its a poor comparison honestly. Boise actually has a pretty good defense. Hawaii's defense was opportunistic at best and Brennan with Jones' tutelage was on fire most of that year. Boise has much better balance. And who wants to play ball when they travel to the islands anyway.

Back to the topic: Just for the sake of discussion, lets say Boise and one SEC team(doesn't matter which one) are the only undefeated teams at the end of the year and they are chosen to play in the title game( real possibility and lets forget whether you think a 1-loss team from big-10, big-12 or whatever others deserved more in your opinion). For any reasons, Boise won. To you, it still doesn't matter because 1) Boise plays in a weaker schedule and 2) it's much easier to prepare for 1 game as you and some others have suggested. As you can see, Boise can't win no matter what.

Also, please look at other facts:

    1) People keep complaining about Boise's schedule but they always forget to mention that Boise has been trying very hard to upgrade theirs. The so-called "big-boys" wouldn't want a piece of them for good reason. So it's not really fair to put all the blame on Boise. It's like we won't play you for our selfish reasons and turnround to use it against Boise.

    2) It took Boise two defeated seasons to get where they are(to be ranked this high at the beginning of the season so they have a realistic shot at the title game), beating some very good teams along the way. So it's not like they were given a free ride.

    3) Under the current system(no playoffs), every team knows the rules going in, so why penalize Boise when their chance is coming up??

I don't have a problem with your opinion except when you implied that only people making ANY senses are the ones agreeing with your view.

If Boise beat an SEC team in the title game of course it would matter. What the hell are you talking about?

Well duh, Boise would beat Hawaii. My point was everyone was all over Hawaii because they waltzed through an easy schedule and when they finally went up against an SEC team with SEC speed they got raped.

Boise hasn’t faced a team with real speed lately and the last time they did they lost 48-13.  Its like what Colt Brennan said. It doesn’t matter how good your offense is if the other team is the fastest you’ve ever seen and you don’t have an answer for it.

VT isnt considered a fast team? They would be top 3 in the SEC this year

In their last 5 games against the SEC Virginia Tech is 1-4 losing by an average of 15 points per game.

I’m going to have to go with no.

Boise St. has already proven their worth.... I had to re-read your time stamp because it just doesn't make any sense..  You really did start this thread AFTER Boise St. had just beaten Va Tech!!

You do realize that Va Tech is a respectable team, don't you?

We don't need to compare Georgia/Hawaii when we can compare Georgia/Boise State.  That score was even worse - 48-13.  Regardless, if Boise meets Bama in the NCG the results will be similar.  Boise will get absoultely destroyed.

I’m going to have to go with no.

And they would have been 0 & 5 if they would have spotted the other team 17 points in the 1st quarter.  Anyone who watched the game the other night that knows anything about football could see VT was the better team and should have won the gmae by 2 TDs had it not been for the multitude of unforced errors committed by Tech.

If getting demolished by 4 or 5 TDs in a NCG is what it's going to take for these dumb-fucks to understand that Boise is not a Top 5 team in the country, then I say bring it on.

It has the same thing to do with this that the Hawaii/UGA game you mentioned - nothing!!

You are randomly trying to correlate two separate acts that have no causation. You are making a terrible argument.

You dont understand how poor your argument is? By saying one team lost 5 years ago, so this team must be trash too. That is really the basis of your argument?

Boise State has no business even being in the National Title talk.  So what, they beat TCU in the bowl game and VT.  Both of those teams are vastly overrated.  If they had an SEC, or even an ACC schedule, they would lose 2-3 games a year.  It would be a travesty if Boise is allowed to cruise into the National Title game.  You would almost certainly have to take a 1 loss SEC team or an ACC team over an undefeated Boise.  Especially when the 1 loss SEC team wins the SEC championship game.

You are one of those who suggests that it's much easier to prepare a single game with plenty of time. In fact, you insinuated that it's probably the main reason why they could beat Okl(bowl game) and VT(beginning of a season). So you could still use the same argument, no??

I cant believe nobody giving Boise credit for being all over VT to begin. Everyone really saying that VT mangled that game to start all by their lonesome?

    Thats just crazy.

Even if you are the most closed-minded individual, you have to understand that MAYBE, just maybe, Boise had something to do with it.

Yes, for every argument Shooter makes, the same exact argument can be used against him. Not the best strategy.
