West Virginia - Vic Koenning OUT - New DC will be the defensive position staff who will now share the coordinator duties.... Could get interesting ...
PAC-12 - Coming soon: Yet unknown number of PAC-12 players will be boycott the season if demands not met... its unknown who / how many but the presser sounds like it could be a gaggle from numerous schools ... Demands purported to include 1. paying players 2. rectifying all the racist stuff the PAC 12 does 3. paying players 4. coronavirus health stuff ... and 4. paying players ... Guy leading the charge is a familiar face as he was leading the charge to unionize college football a few years back... Feels like the PAC could very easily tell them to take a hike since they are on the brink of cancelling or postponing anyway rather than consume bunch of resources jumping through this new set of hoops...

Hope the PAC 12 has the wisdom to realize that if they give them anything ,
it will not be enough . If they refuse to play , schools should pull their scholarship .

I would think the PAC-12 will just go ahead and cancel the season. Between COVID and player "demands"......the hell with it. Too much volatility in America right now. Wise, your post #24 on July 4th was spot-on!
Thanks , Bud . If I was the PAC 12 , I certainly would cancel the season
before I surrendered 50 % of Conference revenue to student athletes.

They're asking them to leave the NCAA in order to pay the players .... Hmm.. It might even make sense on some level for the PAC to branch off and do their own thing ... maybe actually improve recruiting even if they just play themselves .... But if that was realistically on the table then why would the PAC have to entertain any of the racial blackmailer union's other ransoms?.... just organize the whole thing on your own terms without involving them... Would that not work for the mostly talentless paid players?...
Will be interesting to see this one play out ... still think giving them the stiff arm is the best move here whether or not they plan to play this year ...

Saw something interesting on ESPN this morning with their staff spouting
commentary to the effect that " Players are holding ALL of the cards in
this dispute ". I would have thought that they would shut up and choose
to remain neutral on this issue. Instead , it looks like they are trying to
trying to stir things up so they have something to talk about and keep
their jobs for another week. ESPN ,

Haha yeah Wise of course ESPN is fantasizing about that ... I'm sure there will be 24-7 coverage the PAC-12 hostage situation from here on and will strongly recommend that a committee made up of finebaum and Kapernick negotiate a fair and equitable release of the PAC 12 and all the restitutions and reparations they owe etc etc etc ...
If I'm running an NFL team I'd probably watching closely which players have participated in football boycott stick-em-ups a month before their season starts and which have not.... but I'm old fashioned that way ...

I'm sure that if the PAC 12 tells them to " take a hike " and they enter the Transfer Portal ,
other Colleges will be hesitant to bring that burden into their own program as well.

"So what was that all about?... Ohhh that haha funny story I was just helping to exploit them in a moment of weakness and see what I could extort out of them but I wouldn't do that here"... or try it the ole' "how dare you ask me about that, now give me my scholarship or I'm calling espn on you"...

Haha toldja so lol .... I'll have to check it out!.. My first thought is they really picked the wrong program to mess with, they needed a coach on the hot seat with a shot at a big year and get the best player on their side .. and maybe do it in a college town where they won't applaud the move ... These velocaraptors woulda been better off to test the electric fences at USC or UCLA this year but pretty much most of the PAC is a bad choice to pick on because most every coach seems like they'll be granted a free mulligan year this year anyway... Wash St is probably the worst place to start the covid walkout and assume your ass won't be on the bus to the airport in spokane by end of day...

Not C-19 related, but good example of what can happen it the current 'environment'
* man lemme tell you..I wouldn't last 30 minutes coaching today ha
At TCU....Patterson tells a player to stop using the 'N' word in the locker room...but says it (dumb)...player was UPSET that GP kidded him for posting GF's birthday on SM. Later, he repeats it, "I didn't call him a ___" > national news...GP uses racial slur!
Many players use this as an excuse to sit out practice....... https://www.si.com/college/2020/08/03/gary-patterson-tcu-racial-slur

Ha yeah Gary forgot about strict liability when it comes N word ... Whateve it sounds like a good number of folks were thinking normal about it replying to that player's tweet.... Would be funny if Gary brings Samurai Mike on board to shape up the culture down there... give'em what they want and deserve...
