Hawaii Bowl
Play #30 California/ Hawaii UNDER 24.5 pts 2nd Half
My Minnesota play looks dead now with all the freaking opt outs………WTF has college football done to these games? I think since we are paying players we should offer them a bonus to play in bowl games next year.

geez, now we want to pay them more -- just call pro ball then and be done -- skip/cut classes and "hold out" for more than offered ... personally, I do go the way of you play or you foreit scholarships, and financial aid, and NIL plus repay any NIL monies received ... you either play or suffer consequences -- tired of these prima donnas wanting & having their cake and eat it too & their word means absolutely nothing and not one ounce of responsibility, commitment, honor, team, and love of the game -- all $$$$ ... never happen but that's a Christmas wish ..

Awesome response and I kind of agree. I love the forfeiture of scholarships, financial aid, etc. I also believe we should not allow coaches to leave until end of bowl seasons, or they be penalized a significant dollar amount. You wonder why the military academy’s dominance in bowl games of recent - they cannot opt out. The championship games have very few opt outs, but these lower bowls are extremely difficult to predict!! Merry Christmas and best of luck the remainder of the bowl season.

Once you legalized paying players( and I managed my college bball team with a scholarship and worked for the Heat/Bullets ) it became a Full on Business.
In 2022 the U went to the Elite 8, and 2023 the Final 4.
A week later, the 5 starters were in Jim Larranaga's office with their hand out asking for more.
Coaches screw the players too.
I have a buddy from HS and he was a HS All America.
Played for Rollie at Villanova.
10/5, 12/6 first 2 years.
Nba was very likely.
Rollie goes to Vegas to coach, Lappas comes in and career/playing time went south.
He's doing great career wise but Coaches screw players all the time.
I rep talent in the entertainment business.
It's get what you can get, hope for long term relationships, but accept the best deal you can make.

Unfortunately nothing will never change. Coaches just happy to have players there to win and save their job. I really don't mind players opting out of crappy bowls that have a nfl future. Take gamble out of your thought process and you would do the same in that situation. Who wants to get hurt before the draft. Just logic reasoning to skip the crap fest.
