Irish keep in mind though the game is a month away and that is a long time for practice, healing, gameplanning, etc.  In addition that is also a long time in which momentum can be lost.

I wish the game was this weekend, but give anyonea month to get ready and who knows what can happen.

Look at Boise taking down VT at the beginning of the year.  If they played this weekend VT would blow them off the field.

oregon is a good team, but auburn with cam newton is a slight better team, u metioned that they were 8-5 without him last year, it just shows the chemistry with him. they destroyed south carolina in the sec championship game and have dominated the rest of the sec. a sec team has won the National Championship the last years. it just shows the strength of the sec. i dont think oregon can top that, yeah they went undefeated in the pac 10 but sec is the best conference in football. and history has shown why and favors auburn for this game.

    It's all perception.

Oregon went to Tennessee and killed them!

    Oregon is not a joke.

I love being in the underdog role. I think that's going to be a great spot for the Ducks. We already play freely, but we'll be even more daring in the title game.

Send all those SEC teams to Autzen and the Ducks would come out on top every time, too.

That means nothing in this scenario.

I wouldn't bank on "lack of preparation" as your reasoning for why the Ducks won't win the title.

They are very well coached, and take practices very seriously each day.

Don't talk about the Rose Bowl. That's not this years Ducks at all.

Where was Auburn last year? Terrible argument.

im talking about the east in general, oregon doesnt know how to beat powerhouses from the east over the past couple of years, so why would this year be any different, not a terrible arguement. just becuase they are undefeated so far....ok, all good things must come to an end, and the ducks national championship hopes will end when they face the tigers...

Gonna be a great game. My heart is with Oregon but my brain is with Auburn. I'll probably bet small on the Oregon ml and hope that freak Newton doesn't shred the Oregon defense. I am also worried that opposing coaches have finally figured out how to limit Oregons' potent offense. Go ducks but go small, Newton and Auburn are a bit better at this point. I also think the public will pound Auburn making a  late bet on the Oregon ml my play.

Remember when Auburn gave up 50 points to the Back Up QB at Arkansas?

Let's be realistic people. Auburn's defense is terrible.

(Of course, other than in practice, Auburn's D hasn't yet seen a team that comes close to Oregon's point production.)

A good comparison for this year's Auburn squad is the 2008 Oklahoma Sooners. Bob Stoops' team averaged more than 51 points per game but let in 24.5 (the same as Auburn to this point). When it came time for the Sooners to play an elite offensive and defensive team in Florida (the Gators allowed only 13 points per game), they came up short, losing 24-14. In other words, a word of caution for fans of Newton, who is seen by some as a second coming of a previous SEC Heisman Trophy winner: Even Tim Tebow needed an elite defense to win a national championship. For this reason, if history repeats itself, Oregon will clip Auburn to win the national championship.

Are you inferring that Oregon has BCS championship caliber defense?  It appears Oregon has given up it's fair share of points during the course of the season.

Also per your other comment.  I think it's safe to say Auburn and Oregon are the 2 best second half teams this year.

You seem pretty confident. I guess we will see what happens on the field January 10th.

You can save your breath.  The oregon fans in this thread are more interested in talking smack and stroking their own egos then trying to break down the matchup and talk specifics.
