Nevada has covered two straight games and they were both at home. In those games, Nevada also covered the first half of those games and covered the 2nd half of those games. My play is CAL -2 1st half. I am betting against Nevada that they do not cover their 3rd straight home game and cover the first half of 3 games in a row. Taking Nevada is not the play. If you are considering taking Nevada, stay away from this game because the odds of covering 3 straight home games are not good. CAL also has started gotten off to good starts in the first half of the season and folded in the 2nd half of the season for the last 4-5 years. I see CAL being motivated because with a victory, they will be in the top 25.

Just cause the Friday Night game in Nevada last year went under, doesn't mean the CAL-Nevada will go UNDER, but I think the game goes UNDER, lol. both teams have scored 50 pts in every game, and I think this Friday, both teams come back to earth
no shit smartass. i was just saying cal has a better defense than missouri and if missouri could hold Nevada to 21 pts Cal certainly can do the same!

I think CAL is on a mission this season. The PAC 10 championship is definitely in play for them this year with USC being down.... this is a small number for them to cover and I think they are up to the task...

the line is now CAL -2.5, I smell a bluff, 3 days before the game, does anyone else ??
I jumped on -2.5! I have season tickets to the Cal Games and went to the UC Davis and CU games. Cal Defense looks pretty legit, but let's face it, the competition these 2 first games wasn't anything to get too excited about. Riley at QB still hasn't shown he can pass the ball and he really didn't have to these first couple of games because the run was working so well. I think Nevada is an underrated team that will test CAL more than people think. The fact that Cal is on the road against a team that definitely can be explosive on offense (Nevada can put up some points), and with Riley at QB, the line reflects this. -2.5 though? I thought the line would be like -7 or -7.5. Either way, I'm on the favorite for this game. Has nothing to do with the fact that I went to Cal either!

i was leaning heavily Cal -3 until i just watched the Cal/Colorado game..
Cal was underwhelming. Colorado played an absolutely atrocious game. the final score of that game has more to do with Colorado's ineptness rather than with Cal's quality. they may very well beat a Nevada team that doesn't do well against the big boys, but i'm not convinced. probably a no-play for me....

The Pac-10 was completely exposed as a fraud during bowl season... Now, after 2 weeks of playing bullshit competition,we forget that. people gonna get buried this week.

SolidCapper, not trying to be a dick, but most of things you say make zero sense, and lack any true substance or relevance to anything that has to do with a certain game.
Here's my advice
1) When you decide to post something, you should read your post 5 times, wait for 15 minutes and read it 3 more times.
2) If you are going to post stats or "facts", check or research the accuracy of them
3) Re-read your post 4 more times.
After you go through these steps, and you REALLY REALLY think you have offered insight or substance, Hit Submit...if not, do us all a favor and hit RESET.
And actually this post appies to 85% of the people that post on here.

Nevada has a good offense, but CAL's defense is very underrated. They have big boys on both sides of the ball, offensive line and D-line. I don't think Nevada's speed will be a factor in this game, cause CAL has speed too. They totally dismantled Colorado, and I see CAL winning by at least a TD.
am I wrong??
nope, you are absolutely on target. Cal 55-21

First of all, kudos to QB Colin Kaepernick who had 402 yards in offense last week against doormat Colorado St. The thing I see here is in week 1, Nevada let Div I-AA Eastern Washington score 24 points and rack up a total of 432 yards!!! Nevada was only up 35-24 at the end of 3 quarters and finally put them away but failed to cover the 28 point spread. California on the other hand, held Colorado to 241 total yards and forced 3 INT's and 2 fumbles last week beating them 52-7. California easily here 55-21
Good luck to everyone this week

Line's fishy. That's the only insight I've got on this one. Any amount of research and trends won't clear the fog surrounding this opening line. I've seen Mizzou crush Nevada, and I've seen them battle it out on a Friday last year. They blitz a lot and force turnovers; then shorten the game with the run. They are not a team to look past whatsoever. IF they get up early, it'll be a nail biter. Boise's beat them each of the last three years while Kaepernicks been there. The combined score of those three wins is only 20, with two of those years being separated by a score. Chris Ault is a great coach who can get his team up for big games. Not sure about all this "big boys" talk and conference comparison. Sorry to burst some people's bubble, but the Pac-10 isn't really the big show either. I'd watch myself on this one.

Nevada covers this one. Cal. destroyed two bum teams and is overrated.
Yes, they beat two really weak teams by a large margin. How is Cal overrated this year? Were they ranked in the top 25 to begin the season or did I miss something?

Also Chris Ault is in the Coaches HALL OF FAME....he knows a little about football. Very smelly line......probably better to bet the O/U
