Anybody read the story in ESPN Magazine in this months issue about a Database built and bankrolled by TOM SCOTT who has now since passed, but is continued to be updated by Tom Stryker. Contains stats for every NCAA Football and NFL Game since 1980 and Every NCAA Basketball and NBA game since 1990. It has only been sold to 9 people at 15,000 a piece and has not been sold since 2007.
You can query any angle with this database. For example how do favorites of 20 or more points favor when they lost by 20 or more points the previous week. 80-49-2 over the past 30 years.
The last buyer of the database runs Madduxsports Sal Selvaggio. Other customers are Big Al McCordie, and Doctor Bob.
Stryker also started Team Stryker Sports.

Didn't read the article so I'm a little confused why such a database would be worth so much money. Seems like there would be such an over-abundance of trends that it would actually be impractical to use.
Hundreds and hundreds of angles, many trends contradicting each other... how do you sort out the important ones?
