Betting Week 1 openers

Well,we finally got some Week 1 betting lines posted here in LV later in the

day yesterday. With only 6 matchups on the board this week that came as

a surprise. Looks like bettors are not bashful about stepping up and betting

up faves early . I see some value on the other side of a few of these , and I

think line movement during the week may create even more value. We'll see.

BYU / Navy is seeing some line movement right now.  Down to - 1 , 1'  Total down to 53 .

FWIW, I bought my positions on this matchup as soon as it opened , thinking to add more

later . Now, I may on get the chance to add at the same prices.  Oh well .

Army is moving down to 3 , 3' at some shops . 

Yeah Jabari Laws was a bit of a passer and we got Asher O'hare on the other side... ~54 seems a bit high where Army is projected winner ...  really seemed like the passing game is what lit a spark in that AF offense last year only 5 receptions but averaged 25 yards per completion... maybe we get more than 2 or 3 passes per game outta them this year....

SMU / Tex St total movin up fast up to 70.5, maybe on the Brady McBride as Tex St starter news? It does look like if anything works for them this year it'll be on offense and at times they put a few points up last year ... got 64.5 in a parlay yesterday .. commence fireworks please!!

Buddy, I'm not a fan of laying a lot on huge totals for Week 1. Without Spring and with

limited reps this fall for some programs , I think defenses will be well ahead of Offenses

early in the season. Seems like laying over 70 in week 1 is a stretch..... even for SMU or

Memphis.

Oh yeah I'm with you Wise ... And relying on Tex St to do anything on offense is like a funhouse you don't want to visit ... really just noting the 6 pt swing there .. 

For sure bud . I'm looking at the line movement on the Army / MTSU matchup right now .

I see the matchup as even. Not sure why Army was layin 5' on the open. Either side is

just a coverage bust away from winning that one .

Heritage just posted Navy at  PK - 105 . BOL has BYU - 1 .   Any takers ?

BYU is still +1 at Pinn. I got a feeling this line settles at PK.

I agree. I don't think it will move too far from current levels

ESPN is reporting that LSU DT Tyler Shevlin has decided to Opt out.

He joins teammate  WR Ja'marr Chase on the opt out list .

Texas A & M  CB Elijah Blades is electing to opt out of the 2020 season .

FYI , Total is starting to move down to 52 ' at some shops .

SMU is now up to - 22 ' at some  shops  

BYU is now moving to - 1' at some shops

Thats a little weird about Blades at A&M ... I've only seen that the #3 QB opted out of A&M and figured some of the 'teams of destiny' would have an 'all-in' attitude by now  ... certainly for a returning/proj starter... it does look like a pretty deep CB field in Phil at least and says he's returning next year so maybe just a calculated draft prospect move than real covid concerns ... 

Got BYU -2 at bookmaker, -125 on the ML .. looks like BM's using standard odds are at -108 .. not sure if that's a temporary thing but cool with me ... 

Bridge, I think there will still be more  opt outs to come before next week.

I'm also kinda surprised that the Southern Miss line @ -15 , 15' is still holding.

Looks expensive to me at those prices. I may be tempted to take a look at S. Ala.

Word up Wise, yeah getting up there .. 15.5 now .. a 35-20 game is now a winner ...  and S.Bam really found a stride and put up points late LY after the QB change.. sounds like they've settled on some guys they like at WR and could be much tougher this year .. I think though when we look at S.Bam LY getting 3 or so points a few times vs a step up in opponent (which I'd mark S.Miss as being) the potential to fall flat is a bit worrysome .. I'm thinking maybe S.Miss TT Under might be worth a look if it lands at 35 ... S.Bam moving super slow and bit of a sticky D last year just found ways to keep some better opponents under that mark ... And if we get a little more outta the S.Bama offense this year then think we add alot of value to that play the way they worked the clock LY .. tack on the general covid wackyness and S.Miss' losses and I don't expect Eagles O to be operating at a level where Memphis or ULL were on O last year when they broke through that 35 pt mark .. 

In other news .. VT - Raheem Blacksheer is..... IN!!! ... appeal granted... really like this ... 

ESPN is reporting that 10 UCF players , including 2 starters , are opting out of the 2020 season.

Starters CB Tay Gowan , DT Kalia Davis , are among those 10 players.

ESPN is also reporting that Ed Ogeron stated that additional LSU players are considering opting out.

No final decision has been made by the players yet.

App State  starting WR Corey Sutton elects to opt out this season

Just noticing that OK St had 2 proj starting OL's xfer off Phil's depth chart .. Bryce Bray, Ret starter G - Tulsa.... Jacob Farrell, projected staring T  ... that makes 4 of LY's starters gone plus Farrell who was a projected starter... woof .. Sanders better learn how to use those feet and throw on the run this year... effectively ..
